Apparently a Freedom Force II is in the works, BB. I have the original, but it's one of those games that gets tedious after a while. _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS

| Agreed. I loved it the first time through, then tried to replay it and got bored after a half hour. Just from the early hype, FF2 sounds promising, as your heroes will now be fighting the Third Reich. Could be cool. |

But it won't be able to compete with CoH. I got it last Tuesday and it has consumed most of my waking time, it is that addictive.
If you want to run solo, then just don't join a team and run through the city by yourself. But by doing that you are missing most of the fun that a team offers.
This game gets two thumbs WAAAAYYYY UP from me, and I am a die hard Dark Age of Camelot player. The graphics in the game are just simply breath taking and a nice treat for the eyes.
You can find me on the Liberty Server as a few heroes like,
Chillblane
Lady Freeze

OK...went into a gaming store today with a colleague.
Saw City of Heroes...Shed a small tear thinking "I would so play this if it wasnt for cost".
they I saw they sell 60 Day membership for 22.95 Canadian.
that made me smile. A lot chaper than I thought.
So I just may end up joining up come next week. _________________ =============================

| Liberty Server, look for ExS A C T I O N, I am usually on that toon when I am online. I can get you into a very good Supergroup, The 7th Legion. We specialize in helping newcomers. |

I heard that it does not have single player game mode,
and I will need to sign up for an account and even pay
fees(?) in order to play the online multiplayer game, so
I guess I won't be getting this game after all.
Has anyone played this game yet? How is it compared
with Freedom Force 1? |

Ghostwolf,
You've heard correctly; the game is a massive multi-player online game with no standalone option. Right now it costs $50 to buy the game, then $15 a month to play it (although I think you get the first month or so free). Cavalier says the game rocks out loud, but I'm waiting for Freedom Force II because, well, I'm poor.

You can find me on the Justice Server as:
Amazing Dynamo
Guardian
American Fury
or
Ruccus
All depending on the mood I'm in when I play. You can also go to the beginners gallery and see my poser version of Guardian my main guy in COH. |

Hey All....
I play CoH and did the beta testing as well.....it was my first attempt at online play and I totally love it.....I am hooked and have a number of characters on different servers.....the game is around $50 to buy and then it's $15 per month to play, but if you're looking for an awesome game where you can be almost anyone you chose then do yourself a favour and grab a copy.....
Cheers,
Tamar |

It is rather addictive.....my PC has been giving me a spot of trouble and I've been experiencing quite a bit of lag, but I'll soldier on until I can get a new one.....or perhaps I should say, my husband gets a new one and I get his current.....
Some of my characters include -
"Alabaster" a magic blaster on Freedom server...
"Flare DeLis" a magic blaster on Pinnacle...
"Texoz" a technology blaster on Champion...
"Dingo" a natural scrapper on Justice...
and on the liberty server...
"Ana Mei" a natural tanker and
"Malachite" a mutation controller [my only male character]
.....I do have more but won't bore you all any longer.....and if you think I have too much time on my hands you're darn well right ..... |

Yeah Billy, the game is truly an incredible experience in the MMORP world. Mainly for the fact that it isn't loaded down with details that make it seem more like a job than a game.
I used to play Dark Age of Camelot, and once I installed City of Heroes, I cancelled my DAoC accounts within a week's time. There is no crap about worrying about only playing a couple of hours and gettin no where. Every time you level at this time, you get new stuff either a new power on the even levels, or enhancement slots for improving the powers you have.
Within this last month, I have reached the max of eight characters on the Liberty server because it's just so much fun making and playing a new character. It is definitely worth the price of the game and the 15 dollars a month. |

Just an FYI for everyone -- I noticed yesterday that they're now taking pre-orders on City of Villains. _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS
