Hi y'all
I wrote a film script about 8 years ago and have been dying to do a comic or film about it, I am going to try and do it myself. I have a huge poser library, roughly about 15gb but to get the pics to look just right I've found that with a bit of postwork It can take up to 5 or six hours to finish complete just one pic. I dont have a slow PC, and at the mo I am re-working on the title page ( I have already done one version but it looks abit out dated). does anyone have any tips on how to produce a comic that wont take forever to do? Peace and luck to you all

PL

Hate to say it, but there are only 3 things that can really improve your time.

Practice. The more you do it, that faster you can get.

Simplify. Cut down on details you don't need.

Action. If you find you do the same type of thing repeated, make it a Photoshop action.

Remember, this isn't just about the art, it's also about producing it in a timely matter. There's reason why Alex Ross has only done graphic novels and limited series up till now. His style takes to long to produce a monthly book without compromise. (Although I hears he is attempting one now.)

That concept of being under the gun for speed is a integral part of producing a comic.

And producing 132 image per book is part of the deal.

The short answer is... CHEAT. CHEAT as much as possible. :D

That's easy to understand. The Comic I'm working on is based on a book I wrote some years ago, and that was another case of time. It took alot of re-writes to finally get it done- mostly spelling corrections!
I could add one other item to Rattler's list. Depending on your choice of forms,- 3d 0r 2d- you might limit the 3d work to special moments and do the rest in 2d.I know I'm doing alot of photoshop work on mine so as to enclude real buildings and textures when possiable.
