|
|
Hello, I'd like to make a cartoon out of 3d styled graphics like the ones on this site. Is there a way to use this type of graphic in a simple cartoon style format? What I mean is, can a guy use, say, the hulk for a 2d style cartoon only with Photoshop backgrounds? Any thoughts or help is GREATLY APPRECIATED! I'm a NEWB to all of this so bear with me. Thanks, Jim |

| yes you can. Hopefully I read this right. If you had Poser you can sketch render which will render in 2D (ex. pencil style) or 'cartoon.' And if you mean can you use a background you designed to have as a background then that is possible too. Just import and background image. Poser can be purchased from Curiouslabs.com I have to say it's pretty powerful for the price. Hope this helps. |

Thanks Frost! Yeah, pretty much that's what I'm after. I'd like to do kind of an anime (mature) style. I'm not sure what it's called, but it's not the girls with big eyes. It looks more detailed and seems to have a more mature storyline. I'll try to find out what it's called. Anyway, thanks for the reply I really appreciate it. What version of Poser do you recommend? Or, is there a difference? Thanks, Jim |

If you get Poser5, there are toon-shader functions built in that can give a 2D look to your renders. I haven't played much with them myself, but I've seen others get some really nice results. _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS

Thanks Orca! Is the Poser 5 a stand alone kit? Meaning, do I need other software to make a cartoon mini-movie? Thanks you guys for all your help!!!! |

Poser5 can be a completely stand-alone application, BUT many people use the human figures from DAZ3D.com in Poser. Also, if you're doing dialogue in your movie, you may want to check out a program at the same site called Mimic. I know very little about it, but from what I hear, it's designed to make lip movements match dialogue. _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS

There's also a program called MetaForm that installs into Poser you can purchase from DAZ Productions(use as keyword) if you'ld like to add some really cool special effects to your cartoons. |
