At long last, I've tallied the votes, determined the winners, and created the long-anticipated winners page:

I will be in touch with the winners over the next week to arrange for the prize delivery/downloads.
I'd like to thank my fellow judges for their time and effort in making the tough decisions about the winning images. I'd also like to thank ALL the entrants who made this contest a success.

That was the last thing I expected when I came in to read the news this week...
I'm quite surprised. There were lots of nice renders & concepts to choose between.

EDIT: Yeah, I'm looking forward to the next contest too, here, and at other community sites.
Having never entered a contest before, I found this one gave me the inspiration to buckle down, work on something and finish it in less than 4 months. I don't normally do that, and it was fun.  |

Hi folks!
Im sorry for all that trouble my pic (3rd place) made - reading the rules many of you did it without postwork - knowing that their works could make much better ranks with a little brush-up. I didnt invest much time in postwork although the effects are heavy. I think its fair to contact the moderator to take it out of the contest and give the prize to the next contestant.

Jack, with or without the post work, I think your concept and image stands well enough on it's own.
What is it exactly that anyone is complaining about? |

Ahh, thanks. I didn't catch that thread.
Well, I don't see any cause for complaint. Is it the snow in Jack's Image? The glow on the Skels in mine? He didn't specifically say what he thought was excessive postwork... |

any idea when the next contest will be?
I really enjoy seeing all the great work that inturpits the themes so differently all posted together.
With that said will the past galleries be restored.
