OK - Maybe its just me - I do use a Mac after all =).
So far, after two days of intense playing with Poser 6, I discovered two things that not only annoy me with P6, but has rightfully P'd me right off.
1) When clicking on any of the scroll wheels to modify a figure, and pop opn the window to type the values in, neither 'ENTER' nor 'RETURN' function to automatically click on 'OK'. You are left with actually clicking with your mouse.
This may seem stupid to be P'd off about, but honestly, going KEYBOARD to type, then back to mouse, over and over, is the most annoying, time consuming thing they have done with any of their versions that I have had.
2) The grouping tool. Now most of us use this tool extensively, or at least, I do =).
If you zoom in too close, you lose the abilit to select regions. Clicking anywhere results in nothing happening. Zoom back out, and it works. So if you are trying to select pieces of the face as an example, where some of them are very small, say around the nose area, you have to zoom in, but yet cant select anything, so you zoom out, but cant see anything.
And where is Curious Labs in terms of technical support? DONT FRIGGIN' KNOW, because they sure arent answering any of the questions I have submiited to them thus far.

Well, at least this time they admitted they had bugs right away [rather than waffling on it for months like with P5] over at their site, and said they're working on a SR1 patch already.
Maybe they're reading your emails and just not answering them... ?
Heh. Maybe their email servers won't deliver to Mac users? *snicker*
Hang loose til the first service release pack, and see if they addressed any of these. And then if they didn't, call them and raise hell. I think someone posted a working tech support # at Rendo somewhere.

Why oh why must the Apple jokes sting so much? If you pinch me, do I not bruise?
If you cut me, do I not bleed?
If you send me a virus, does my computer not crash?
Oh yeah, wait...its a Mac...We have a stable OS =). lol
Actually, just got the emails from CL. The first problem reported they were aware of and are now woirking on it for an update.
The second they were not aware of, the Grouping problem, and had no problem duplicating the error I experienced, both on a Macintosh and a PC. Then thanked me and are not investigating.
So I will cut them some slack. I just had a lot of problems with them when I first bought P5, slow load times (up to an hour sometimes) crashes and the likes, and they denied it up and down. But it seems they are on the ball with P6. _________________ =============================

Yeah... I hate to say, because I had such a major problem with the P5 fiasco and CL's handling of it, but it *looks* like this time they're actually delivering something that works somewhat, rather than doing "Poser 5 Part Deux". Cool.
I still won't buy it, mostly because it's not offering anything I either want or that I can't get from P4/PPP and other renderers. I'll wait til they do a full core rebuild and redesign that ten year old cose base instead of patching in new toyz.
But it's nice to see that we won't have to go through the P5 mess all over again. Hopefully. _________________ "I'd add a legitimate comment here, but that would mean reading everything, which I have no patience for." - Slynky

I've been playing with P-6 for 2 days now. It's a SWEET program. I love the new Materials Room design. You can plug nodes as you would in P-5, or use the new simple menu that any P-4 user could figure out at a glance. Reliability is good. I don't recommend parenting and deleting Jessie and James hair props to other figure types, but aside from that, I haven't had any nasty surprises.
The other big improvement is the new way transparency mapped clothing shows in the display mode without the transparent dots that were always so hard to work with.
Jessie has a much sexier physique than the P-5 Judy figure. Her build looks comparable to the DAZ Stephanie model. Vicky 3 would be a better choice for Wonder Woman, or Warbird, but Jessie would be a better choice for Wonder Girl, or Susan Storm.
Her proportions remind me Byrne's interpretation of Sue from 25 years ago.

Hrm... Methink's the truth may hurt a tad bit? I"ve been using PC's with DOS>Windows for 20 years now and I've never had a virus. If you know how to compute safely and take care of your OS, your OS will take care of you.
Anyway you get a big fat for already having your P6! I still await the arrival of my hardcopy tomorrow whenever UPS deigns to deliver it.
Hasdrubal, I found this cool link to applying Jessi and Jame's hair to the new kids and visa versa. You might wanna check it out:

I haven't seen any problems putting it on the new kid figures. I probably won't use the kids very often.
If you apply the new hair types to DAZ figures, the program locks up if you try to delete the hair. I don't think it's much of a problem when I already have a nice collection of props for those figures.
I was surprised not to find the Judy and Don hair that came with P-5, but I never was a big fan of P-5 hair.

Well I'm in the middle of my install as I type this (Boy P6 takes forever to install!!!) and haven't gotten to check anything out. I hope they have new hair for Don & Judy if they don't have the old hair!

Miz - As my last line read - Its a Mac...No virus...Stable (Compared to windows...And don't tell me you never got no blue screen of death lol). Ive been "computing" since '77, so I pretty well know my machine =).
But have been in touch with Daz on my problems, and they admit they are legit bugs that they are working on now.
Hpe all that are installing now or using now are having fun. _________________ =============================

My first thought was that it could be some kind of reversed normals showing through the other side of the object. But that wouldn't account for the parallel lines.
I took the additional precaution of making the figure and clothing invisible, with shadows and ray tracing tuned off, except for the shoe.

Well installed it last night...so far no real issues other than it seems the hires eyelash trans for Jessie is missing, or not where it's supposed to be, not that I cared much as I was too consumed with Jessie's "figure" so to speak.

I haven't seen a BSOD since Windows 98 but it had nothing to do with Virii. And why would anyone write Virii for Mac's anyway? What's the point? Nothing really important is done on a mac.
