Let's see... I agree with the consistency issue.

My favorites so far have always been Ken Seismore's Jack [sadly seems to be defunct now], Liberty [hasn't been updated in a long time], and in strips, Sabrina Online.

Personally, I'd love to see Ken come back online, and I'd really like it if a new Liberty came up. [Hint! Hint! If anyone out there is reading this, Ken. :)]

Thanks for the kind words regarding the Liberty comic!! Unfortunately, I've taken down PowerHeroes.com. After the second comic I was just burnt out. Both comics took a year or so to create, and that's keeping up with an update every 3 to 4 weeks. After that, it was painfully clear why most just don't make it very far. Plus, I just didn't see what else I could do new 3D-wise to make it worth another go. Who knows...Lib may turn up again sometime in the future.

Right now I'm concentrating on guitar with a little glamour photography on the side, which I'll be posting on my new website (WildHeart.tv) once it's ready (will be a few weeks).

p.s. Nice to see some familiar people here! Keep the faith, guys! 8O 8O

Hmmm... If anyone is interested in putting together an article on how to create a comic, I'd be happy to contribute (mainly the pre-production part - early decisions can make or break one - as my 3D tricks are a bit rusty these days). Just let me know.

I'd be interested in that, Alan. Sounds like an article that would fit the site here perfectly. ;]

I'll give you a shout... but it won't be right away - I'm a bit swamped with projects right now. ;[

Will do. ;]

Too bad about Liberty. I'm going to miss the Platinum Bombshell... ;[

Here here! Liberty was very instrumental in me getting my butt in gear and making my own comic more "comic book" like. Hatcheck Kelly and Sacred Truth were also very instrumental in me taking my hand drawn comic into 3d.

I too was wondering about Jack. That seemed to just disappear one day! Where is it??

I'm currently planning a new issue with upgraded models and such but I have to agree it's hard work when other life issues are constantly pressing! 8O

I'd be happy to help... even though I never seem to finish my comics, at least I get them rolling every now and then.

My Time XXXStream comic is up to about 24 pages over at rotica.

It would sure help if I got paid something worth the time they take to create!

Hey Doug!

I didn't know your comic's going on over at...Ooo! Oops as I type this I get it now Time XXXstream LOL. Not sure why I was thinking 'osity. I was like "Huh? I haven't seen that while surfin' over there...." LOL, I don't visit 'otica.

:)

I know what you mean about pay though. It's alot of work! I started making soundtracks and what not for mine to hopefully kinda sell it more. So far I've sold two! (eh...one for me and one for my wife....) but I did manage to sell a shirt and a poster!! (uh...to myself)....Oh oh! I did sell 2 mugs! (yes yes one was to myself also but ONE was to someone at POSER PROS!)

Hmm...come to think of it. I've only technically sold ONE thing. I did manage to sell a chair over at Turbo Squid though. Yes just one. 8O

Lol! I was my own best customer when it came to buying Liberty paraphenalia at my cafepress store. That in spite of sporting some awesome artwork by Eric Wolfe Hanson. One guy did purchase a couple of mugs though.

I've been a fan of Mr. X & Nightwing 316. Also Tempusfugit and his Justice Babes. But I haven't been able to find many other Poser strips Of their quality

Thanks for the kind words IB and Pan.

HCK - he great little comic that no one's seen. :D
HCK3 is half rendered but on hiatus while I write PHP code in my sleep.
HCK2 remains unsold just gathering rejections, only one of them "bats".

I've seeded CD copies of HCK around and I'm pleased to say the percentage of "people who have gotten through it" has dropped below .500

 8-)

The only things I check regularly nowadays is Sluggy and Starry Ones.
The last couple of years everything seems to have blended into a homogenous blandness. Good stuff/bad stuff its all just variations on a theme; to most a Syndication contract seems the SanGreal

Bun-Bun RULES!!!

Another I read pretty regularly is Chris Muir's Day by Day. Well done, cynical, and funny as hell. ;]

I don't usually count strips I read when a question like this comes up. There's a lot of those. For some reason, my mind tends to relate the questions to graphic novel style comics like HCK and Liberty, rather than strips like Sluggy.

Another one that's now defunct that I miss is Halfmoon Comics. Fantastic art and storyline... 404 land internet graveyard stuff now.

"homogenous blandness" is pretty good descriptive, jje. What makes Starry Ones, HCK, Liberty, Jack, and similar work is that they're not clones of anything else. They take a genre, sure, but they spin it off and do something else with it.

It's gotta be hard to keep that freshness and keep coming up with a unique flavor and new twist on standard genre over a long period of time though, and not get stale doing it. I'm not sure i could pull it off.

I agree with what is being said about online comics. The big killers the creator face are running out of time or burnout or new ideas. Because most websites are one person operations, it is hard to do a comic and maintain the web site. I've done a number of adult comics using Poser 4/Propack software. But I started running short of good new ideas or plots for the comics I was doing.
