After having created a James-based Superman, I decided to see if Michael 3 could be made to look like the Man of Steel. The goal was to capture the strong-yet-gentle look of a quintessential, generic Superman (i.e. not favoring any particular Superman actor) to be used as a basis for any superhero-type character. I think I've gotten to the point where it's not going to get much better without some external feedback, so I'd appreciate any comments on the face. It was created using the Michael 3 Head Morph Pack, Michael 3 Universal Textures (Hi-Res), and DigiCalimero's Elvis Hair. No custum morphs, objects, or textures were used.

Thanks!

Hey,

Nice combined items to get a rather realistic face.
Just a few things you could correct as far as I'm concerned :

1. Sup's jaws are larger I guess
2. The profile shows clearly that the haircut has to be reshaped to look less 'rock'n roll' style, anf the hair loop in front could be bigger. The hairs don't match the neck.
3. the eyes are too bright and even flashy.
4. in my memories, Sup's lips are thinner and larger
5. the expression could definitely be more worried as Kal el is a too serious guy ..

I know this is a lot, but I already tried myself to make a Sup' character and I consider I failed ...

My favourite ones are definitely the Alex Ross and John Byrne ones ...

I Hope this helps.

PhEn.

Thanks for your advice! I made a few changes to the face, and I finally managed to acquire the right raw materials to make a decent cape! I am pleased to present a rough draft of my own M3-based Superman figure! Here's a head-to-toe and a facial close-up.

Comments anyone?

Uses:
Superman belt from Hasdrubal's Hero Belt Pack
Superman body texture from Muskateer Graphics
Cape trans map for M3 Hooded Cloak by Aremis
Boots from M3 Tunic Pack with cuffs set at 100% transparency

looking good brother. Not too crazy about the belt though. The loops look like spaghettie straps. Apart from that, looking real good.

I have seen lots of different thicknesses in the Superman Belts straps so I am not sure what is really "right."

I agree about the belt. I only tried it because the other one (Muskateer Graphics) didn't seem to fit right. Fortunately, after alot of tinkering, I managed to get the MG belt to fit halfway decently (even though it still requires adjustment sometimes depending on camera angle).

Anyway, I've made some refinements to my rough draft, and I think I have a final or near-final model made! Here's a head-to-toe of the polished-off figure.

For some more dramatic shots, check these out:

I'll post these images in the Animotions Gallery as soon as I figure out how to make the thumbnails 20 KB or less without making them so darn small hey might as well just be textual links! How do you people do that, anyway?

PS: I forgot to mention in my initial post that the hair used for this figure is DigiCalimero's Elvis Hair, available at PoserPros.
