I am doing a short animated video about real life superheroes (google some of these if you don't believe me) for my film portfolio, and I really could use some help with costumes. I'll just post 3 for starters, I don't wanna look like a begging n00b. Any help would be appreciated. The costumes must work with M3 and V3 for me to use them, thanks.
Oh yeah, and the heroes:
Phoenix
The Force
Lady Liberty
All work will be properly credited in the film. Thanks!
Hrrm. Except for the cowl on the one, and the gloves, most of those look like they might be able to be modified from any number of standard poser items.
Have you tried browsing through the store and freestuff here, and the stores at Daz, PoserPros, and Renderosity looking to see if there's any items there you might could modify to make work? If you find the right or similar things, you can retexture them to match the costume designs.
More expensive, but it *might* be better to go with purchases for a film project: a number of freestuff items have "No Commerical Use" clauses in their readmes. _________________ "I'd add a legitimate comment here, but that would mean reading everything, which I have no patience for." - Slynky

It's not commercial, it's for a school project, though if it is feasable to have the rights, I guess I'd prefer that. I have seen masks and cowls, I would think that it wouldn't be too hard to modify Batman's or whatever, although coming from me, that means little, as I would have no idea to do that. Actually, a Batman cowl colored red, provided it has short ears, would be passable if necessary, becasue the Phoenix's first cowl was like that anyway, in real life.
I figure a bodysuit with a retexture would suffice for most of them, but admittedly (I know this must sound pathetic and n00bish) I have never really understood texturing, so if anyone could extend some help with that, I would appreciate it.
Being a filmmkaer, I know how annoying "make my movie for me" posts can be (I spend a lot of time on the TFN Fanfilms forum) and I want to assure you this is not one of them. I will be doing the animations, editing, and Special Effects myself, as well as coordinating the voice acting. I will be making this, but I know where my weaknesses are, and where I could use help. Thanks.

That's not insurmountable.
Once you have the items you need, while you can't redistribute the models neccessarily, you can always hook up with a texture artist and send them the template along with the designs you have. And then coordinate between you and them until you're both satisfied. [They may even have suggestions that might improve on your designs]
Should be possible for you to hook up with a texturer here or elsewhere and get something going. Might be neccessary to stress that this isn't commercial and it's not a "Help me make money for free!" request. ;]
Judging by your designs, the type of texturing you're needing really isn't that complex, IMO.
I literally haven't the free time to tackle another project, so I can't help personally.

We try to be a little less hostile to that than some other sites I've seen.
What does often get a cold response here are the "Work for hire" type requests [The "I need voluteers to work for free on my commercial project], but even there, I tend to discourage flaming the posters. A simple "Not interested" usually works just as well. _________________ "I'd add a legitimate comment here, but that would mean reading everything, which I have no patience for." - Slynky
Good luck with your project, by the way. _________________ "I'd add a legitimate comment here, but that would mean reading everything, which I have no patience for." - Slynky

Thanks.
Hopefully someone will coem along.
In the mantime, I will try to work on something with the fantastic models provided here. You guys are great.
(Speaking of which, are there any other good Poser content sites out there? All I could find was stuff you had to pay for, until someone offered a link to your webpage.)
A few, but it seems that more and more freebie sections are being taken over by "Free" addons for store items.
I get a chance later, I'll dig through my links and post a few. _________________ "I'd add a legitimate comment here, but that would mean reading everything, which I have no patience for." - Slynky

Many thanks, I look forward to seeing your skill with the rest of it. Personally, all I see is the need for the cape (red on inside, black on outside) and for the suit on this figure to be black, instead of that dark grey.
Let me know the details, how many textures are we looking at, what figures you intend to use ect. I might be ale to help you out fairly quickly.
Cheers and good luck. _________________ =============================
