I just watched the so-called 'New' Scooby Doo on syndicated WB, it is HORRABLE! Since when is Scooby Doo an animae cartoon??!

Before the New Scooby Dump came on was the 'New' Tom&Jerry cartoon and I was so thrilled to see old Tom and Jerry back in action! They where just as I had remembered them! It was Fantastic, True, Loyal, Talented, and just plain FANtastic! The new generation of kiddies getting to see some REAL cartoon talent at work again instead of all that 'chop-sockie' crud that fills the airways today....geesh, sometimes I have to check my address and area code just to see if some torrdado done picked me up and landed me in Tokyo central or something :?

But then this completly Horrible and awful thing that claims to be 'Scooby Doo' came on...and after that was some kind of comic Smallville or somthing, again, very cheesy, very low talent, like some grade school kids in Tokyo desided to do a project based on an American film or something...??? Why waste perfectly good film to mutilate perfectly good cartoons?

Now last week I caught some kind of new animated show on channel 4, don't know the name but it was of Midevil style and completly 3D animated, while the backgrounds where very low res (as where the characters) it completly caught my attention! The character's movements and the 3D hair and the Expressions on the otherwise low-res characters I thought were AWSOME! They interacted with their otherwise low-res environment with such skill and detail...and the story line was rather cute too.
But alas, the Chop-Socky network admins must have voted it out, for this week they made the Saturday morning kiddies have to watch some old men knocking a little white ball around a big park with silly crooked sticks and then chase after them to see if their ball fell in a hole or not :?

ARE THERE NO REAL CARTOON ARTISTS AROUND ANYMORE???
Does Everything have to be Chop-Sockied to death to make it past the network executives today?

The original Scooby Doo episodes aren't on my list of classics, but they're better than what followed later.

If you wish to know why good cartoon ideas almost always die in the pitching and development stage, click on this link.

If you want to know more about one of the last great cartoon directors in North America, here's a link to John K's blog. (John K. is the creator of Ren and Stimpy if you didn't know already.)

All I can say is, "No Sir, I don't like it."
