Yes, several. A number of them have already been tagged as disqualified except for ones submitted yesterday and today that I haven't gotten to yet. Those will be marked as "Disqualified" so the contest judges will know to not bother with them when I set up the judging. |

Seriously, whle my previous answer covers it - I should be able to tell if I look hard - if I'm in doubt, I'll email or PM the poster and ask:
"Ok, what Animotions/DTG item did you use and where in the image, and what Daz item did you use and where in the image?"
It's *not* rocket science. |

not to be a smart ass in any way here but....
your image was disqualified for being too big....
you are allowed two entries....
you only submitted one....
why didn't you just resize your image and resubmit it....? |

*shakes head* Answered this in PM, however you may not have recieved it yet.
Your quote leaves out a lot of both implied and implicit design qualifications that were detailed specifically within the contest rules: the "be able to give away neat stuff to the contest enterers" has the implicit "qualified contest entries" within it.
Your image came in just before the closing on the 31st. I didn't see it til *after* closing at midnight on the 31st. There wasn't time to send a "please resubmit" at 11:59 and expect you to have time to resize and reupload before contest close, therefore I didn't. I didn't do so for the other people who came in on the last day near the end, as well.
800x1241 or the 768x1240 are within the area where image resizing software error can account for 1-2 pixels of error. 20-40 pixels is not.
20 to 40 pixels or more falls into "I didn't pay attention to what I was doing, but I want special consideration for my inattention" error.
Had your entry come in before the very close to end of deadline, I would probably have shot you a PM saying "Psstt! You're oversized: may want to resize it and resubmit, thanks."
That would have been a courtesy call on my part not a requirement: I would also have been perfectly within ettiquette to have simply posted a "Disqualified" and moved on even if it'd have been submitted on the 11th instead of the 31st.
You are not showing a degree of courtesy in this here that inclines me to make a retroactive courtesy call in exchange.
We have 22-24 entries by artists who did actually seem to manage to not find reading and following the guidelines too onerous a task. It is really not fair to them to give special consideration to those who couldn't seem to manage this.
I am sorry you feel gypped.
I am feeling irked because you're taking me to task publically for not bending over backwards and attempting to cause me to take responsibility for something that, in the end, amounts to your error and lack of attention to detail. It ain't going to happen.
Not real certain what relevance our "feelings" have on this thing.
This is where this stands as far as I'm concerned.
If you really feel gypped, feel free to email Diane Griffith and request a refund or store credit for your $20.00. I am perfectly willing to give you her email address via PM if you request. It will be up to her discretion if she decides a refund is warranted.
I cannot and will not promise you that she will decide to grant one. |

$20?
So even if he doesnt win. . . he still has a qualty bit of content from the store. Maybe it is just because I work in marketing but that was the point. To get people to visit and puchase from the store. Ok the piece was disqualified, but you knew the job was dangerous when you took it. As someone who works with deadlines every single day I cannot gather much sympathy for someone who enters at the last minute with such a glaring oversite. |

Heh. You can just imagine what an editor or art director would have told you if you'd turned in a proof the last day before the deadline, outsized, and then effectively demanded that he/she give you a redo. I'm picturing... "colorful" invective. _________________ "I'd add a legitimate comment here, but that would mean reading everything, which I have no patience for." - Slynky

Considering that I am part of a two person marketing dept that supports a bank that just hit the $500m mark. . . well my boss is pretty groovy but I am certain she would have choice words to say the least.

It's going. I *think* [I just woke up, so haven't checked yet] we have two judges left to vote, and then I'll need a tiebreaker vote on 2-3 images in trends hold out.
Should have all the votes tallied and be ready to announce winners by the end of this weekend coming up. _________________ "I'd add a legitimate comment here, but that would mean reading everything, which I have no patience for." - Slynky
