First look at the Iron Man costume that Robert Downey Jr. will wear in the movie.

I was skeptical of this movie, but the more I hear and see, the more I'm warming to it.

Looks good. I have been curios about it but more and more they are making decent decisions. Still never know if it will work but I am thinking it might.

Never mind the costume.

Let's hope the script and the story are good!

Heard there was a problem with the outside linking so I figured this might work better.

While I like the look of the armor, I am still highly skeptical of their choice to have Robert Downey Jr. play the main role. I just cannot envision him as Tony Stark.

I am still not impressed LOL. Kind of looks like he would make a good Dr. Strange though :P But if I can deal with no talent Jessica Alba as Sue Storm then I guess I can also deal with R.D. Jr as Iron Man. Because in spite of her, the second FF4 movie was fantastic. Blew the first one away.

I agree. They should not have cast Robert D. Jr. as Iron Man. It should have been Colin Feral. Robert is way too old for the part.

OUCH! He's only 43 IRL and he can definitely play younger. I think that's a decent age for Tony Stark.

Any younger than the Mid 30's and you've got IronMan 90210. IronMan Place. Or... Stark's Creek. :-p

I think Feral would have been horrible as Stark.

At least RDJ can act.

I you REALLY need to go younger, I could have dealt with Josh Hartnett or Skeet Ulrich. But I would say RDJ is better casting that that 4 or 5 Marvel movies.

Now Gwyneth Paltrow I could probably do without.

And 43 is way too old for Tony, early to mid 30's would have been perfect as that looks about right when he's drawn in the comics (of course, he's most likely around Robert's age considering he's been Iron Man for at least 10yrs in the comics going by comic timeline of course, not by our time).

If I remember correctly, Tony was definately not in his 40's in the comics when he donned his armor. He had to have been at least in his early 30's.

When I look at casting real life people as heroes or villians in the comics, I want their origin stories (such as Iron Man) to reflect as close as possible to their age when they first became a hero/villian in the comic, makes it more real.

Cast a 60yr old as Superman just doesn't work for an origin story, unless your doing a Kingdom Come movie.

So far, the movie makers have done well with this, but with Robert as Iron Man? 43yrs old? Uh, no. Sorry. Very much badly miscast. I can definately tell he can't pass (to me anyway) anymore lower than 38yrs old to me. A lot of actors can pass for being 10 or even 15yrs younger, but definately not Robert.

This is not an attack against the actor, I like him (to bad he usually plays bad guys), I just think he's too old for the part and doesn't look it either.

That's why I pick Colin Ferral. Get a gotee on him he's dead on. He acts good enough for me to pass as Tony/Iron Man and doesn't look like he's in his 40's, he looks like he's in his 30's. :)

As for Jim Rhodes, I would have picked Wesley Snipes or Christopher Judge.
