You need to contact the person who made the file for the freebies, not the administators of the website. We have nothing to do with the links or files, as the creator is responsibe for keeping it updated.

You know, I would think that when someone reports a broken link that the administrators could just go remove said freebie from the downloads section instead of making excuses like that one. Obviously the creator stopped hosting his files and just didn't bother coming to have his freebie removed from here.

Actually, except for one person, the rest of us do not have access to remove any links whatsoever. If someone has the time to post that the link is broken, they obviously have time to send the creator an email to let them know so they themselves can have it removed. The freebies are offered as such, free.
Personally, you should know how things work before making such a critique against those who offer their personal time to keep this place someone working. _________________ =============================

Personally I Do know how things work thanks much. Anyone reporting broken links is doing this site a service and doesn't deserve the attitude you're throwing back at them. You ever wondered why this site lost it's popularity? Look in the mirror.

We've stated hundreds of times before, that we take no responsibility for any of the freebie links on Animotions. This site was meant as a fan site, and the users requested access to freebies, so it was given.
But it's 100% on the poster, the creator of the freebie, to either learn to manage their items themselves, or not post them in the first place, if they can't.
As for giving attitude, you responded to what I POSTED, referring the original question back to the freebie poster. You added 2¢ where it was not required. If you supposedly know how things work with Animotions, you would know that there is only one individual currently able to remove/delete links, and he/she has been away for over a year and a half. But I'm certain you are aware of that already correct?
Even the site owner does not have the access.
As for popularity? Looking at how many posts happen here, I think for a fan site that does not generate any money, Animotions is doing quite well, specially for a site with only volunteers and fans keeping things in line. You obviously like it, since you've been quietly watching the site, even if you don't contribute or partake in any general discussions.
And feel free to come back with my attitude towards my post. I enjoy it very much.
Thanks. _________________ =============================

Regardless of who has the power to fix broken links, posting broken links in the forums not only helps admin's remove links if they're around, but also users who come looking for things know what is broken and what is not. So even if the guy with the power to remove broken links is gone/dead/whatever anyone coming to the forums will find the answer to why a link is broken.
As for who has the power to fix stuff, the last time I checked around the forums here, Diane could still delete broken links, not just Billy Bob. Sorry to hear the site owner lost access to her own site but there wasn't any sort of public announcement or sticky post about it.
I've participated in plenty of discussions here, most recently the Iron Man thread, most of my previous participations are not under this screen name. I lost access to my old screen name when I got a new email address and lost the password to the old account with a system crash before I could update my email address for it. We've even had this same discussion before and Diane was the one who fixed the broken links then!

Yes, and Diane has bigger fish to fry with her web site that generates revenue for her, unlike this, so she doesn't come here frequently, as you already know.
And, as per the last conversation, you were told then by Diane as well as myself that messaging the freebie owner is always the quickest and best solution. Not that she cannot do it, but again, she has bigger fish to fry than worry about how many people's freebies are working or not.
End of discussion. Thanks for playing. _________________ =============================

You just don't get it do you. You're basically telling everyone not to post in the forums because it won't get fixed. That's where the attitude I'm talking about comes in. Posting in the forums does double duty! It informs whoever is in charge whether they want to fix it or not, but it also informs users who come here for freebies just what's working and what's not. Frankly, that's is what generates most of this site's traffic anyway, the freebies. It's simply a good public service announcement to post broken links whether anyone wants to fix them or not.
Telling people to send the email is fine, that's your procedure. Telling them nobody can fix them on staff is an outright lie as my previous post just pointed out to you.
