Anyone who can point me in the right direction --- Maybe a tutorial if one is available?

Im new to Poser 5 environment. I understand all the basics of course, and how the setup room works to make bones.

My idea was to bring in a single piece prop (THink the arm gauntlet from the original costume for Kyle Rayner/Green Lantern).
It's one piece, but it needs to move with the forearm and the hand itself (bend at the wrist).

I have read what CL supplies for the help on the use of bones, but nothing works. It doest create anything.

Anyone...Help?

try this link?

Nerd 3D then go to the tutorial section.

I think you will locate the tutorial you require there :)

Let me know if that helps, or if you need further assistance.

btw... Are you sure you need to bone this prop?

Not knowing the item you speak of....

If it is an arm prop, surely you simply need to parent it to the character's arm for it to stay positioned?

In any event, if you require it to become one with the character throughout collisions for animation purposes etc, Nerd's tutorials will have some information that will be of use to you.

Thanks ever so much Rose. No, a parented prop wouldnt work, as a portion is on the forearm, and two pieces on the hand, but it should be a full piece object that can bend with the wrist, twist ect. to match the arms motions.

I'll check out Nerds and see what I can find.

Thanks much

A

I've posted a series of tutorials on creating an original posable character here:

http://rendervisions.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=27

Yes, it's an Amapi forum, but the tuts cover everything from modeling to Poser joint parameters, and they're written specifically for the Setup Room method of boning (or one Setup Room method, anyway), so maybe they'll help a little.:)
