Who here has seen the pilot from 1997 for the defunct JLA television show?
I downloaded it a couple of days ago, and put it to DVD to watch.
My lord, what a waste of a DVD.
First - The costumes? Green Lantern for instance. He is a complete cross between Hal, Guy and Kyle (A mask like Hal, Black Hair, Guy's costume and Kyle's emblem on his chest.)
They all look like rubber. Worse than the batman costumes.
Then they have Guy flying, by using his ring, which creates a propeler above his head.
And when they got stuck in a room. The most powerful weapon in the universe and he could unlock a simple door.
And dont get me started on MArtian Manhunter. ARGGGGG!!! Now I see why it was dropped after the pilot.
Anyone want to continue the discussion?
Trying to get conversation going again in the forums! _________________ =============================

Here's Guy Gardner, Flash, and MM.
Check out the gu on MM. Damn boy got out of shape eating at "Warriors" too much I bet lol
And I anyone remembers the Flash series, they gave him a cool looking costume without changing it from the comic too much...This version just plain sucks. I have under roos that look better. _________________ =============================

The GL Costume is close to Guys (Except for the fact that it's cheasy plastic), right down to the white strpe down the side of his legs. But I dont remember guy having one whie and one green gauntlet. And the emblem? Thats Kyle's...and the mask is just wrong! _________________ =============================

I will say, for 1997, they did an OK job with the GL ring. They dont show much of it. Guy flying using a helicopter rotor above him...Guy making an umbrella to keep the rain off a woman. Guy using it to move a tree trunk off the road, and then this shot where he catches the bad guy (The Weather Master) _________________ =============================

...And this is the last image.
That is Atom, Fire, Flash, Guy Gardner GL, and Ice.
You never see Ice in costume until the end (This was more like her Origin episode).
Flash running was well done, including super-fast eating because of his metabolism, which I thought was smart.
They did the old "Hal losing the girl" idea, with Carol Danvers, but with Guy instead.
Atom's shrinking effect was OK, but the compositing of little Atom over the video was trully horrendous. I did better work my first time around in school, 12 years ago.
But all in all, it was fun for a lark to watch.
Unfortunatly, I cant give a download site, as I got it off of MlMac, a P2P program for Apple.
Im sure yu can find it on Kazaa or whatever Windows users have.

| I just saw idea of it at Comic Con last year since a friend of mine picked it up. It seemed like it was quite horrible and he said it was laughable. Worsse even than the Fantastic Four thing LOL |

You know what it reminds of, and this going further back...The Spiderman "made for televison movie". Talk about horrible! So bad they made it into a series. Thankfully these guys had the smarts to stop themselves. Guess they are fond of breathing....LOL.

Hmmmmm, maybe the costumes aren't so bad. I've been wearing this one in the attached picture since 1966-- and no one even says anything anymore. _________________ Hasdrubal
