I don't think either one isbetter than the other, they just cater to different tastes. I prefer classical-style heroes rather than nuclear-age heroes, so I buy more DC than Marvel. _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS

That's just what I call the heroes created in the 50's and 60's that got their powers through some form of radiation or similar pseudo-scientific approach. _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS

I do think it all depends.
I myself prefer marvel. Because the DC world always seemed so black and white. It was either good or bad and everybody seemed so cut and dry. Unless you count batman or nightwing(two of my fav dc heros.
But in the world of marvel it is all shades of grey. Nothing is ever really good or bad it just is I mean they have evil villans and such like Magneto(there are better ones but i am picking one everybody knows) He is a badguy but is he? I mean he is fighting for his cause and what he believes is right and the x-men are doing the same. In the dc world it is almost always The good guys are fighting for good and the badguys are always fighting for evil not because what they think they are doing is right.
As far as who has better movie's I gotta say it is a tie. I mean look at spiderman and x-men great movies. But then look at Punisher hulk and daredevil they sucked big time.
Then look at the dc ones. Superman and the first two batman movies great movies. But look at the last two batman movies and the new (uuuuug) catwoman movie horid. And catwoman isnt even out yet.
On a slightly dif topic i was reading an article lastnight about the catwoman movie. And aparently the way they explain this catwoman being different is that there are 9 catwomen(get it hehe) and Hally Berry's is number 9

I have to agree with Hasdrubal.
But other than that I buy a mix between the two. I don't think one company is better than the other.
As far as movies go though Marvel movies have way out classed DC. Even the Hulk was better than the last Batman movie. I'd even cross the line and say the latest Punisher movie was better than the last Batman movie.

i know that the latest Marvel are a lot better, but if we see in a overall, ithink DC has more characters than Marvel portraid in movies and TV(animation icluded).
I dont think Marvel is better than Dc or the other way around.
I just think (till now) DC character are a lot better than Marvel for Movies and television rather than Marvel.

For a long time I was a big Marvel fan and bought a TON of Marvel titles every month and maybe a few DC ones. I liked Marvel's writing--the characters interacted the way that you would imagine they would interact; some had ego conflicts, arguments, etc. But then ALL of Marvel's books became the cookie cutter plotlines and character development, so I became bored with them. About that time, I read Crisis on Infinite Earths and began reading more DC. At that point, I stopped favoring one company over the other and just read whatever the heck I wanted to read.

Quite honestly, I think they've both hit the wall.
The best comic's I've read in the last 15 years have had nothing to do with superhero's.
I think it has more to do with how smart we've become, and the how jaded, than just running out of story.
From the 30's to the early 70's, we in lived in a simple world where pretty much everyone could belive in super hero. There were good guys and bad guys and causes we could all rally around.
But in the last 25 years, that's all broken down. We can't trust our governments in general, and we sure don't trust the individuals running it.
For a comic universe to work, we have to releate to it. We not only need to belive a man could fly, but that his ability to do so could some how save us from the troubles we face.
Our problems aren't big monsters like they were during the nuclear age. They are an endless sea of small ones that would probably more effectively destroy our hero's than any super villian could.
Superman would have endless lawsuits for property damage, as well as civil suits from people he rescued because they got hurt.
Spider-man too. He's a little more realistic in that the cops aren't his buddy. They would both be arrested for endagering public safety after every Super Battle.
Most dark alley's that they change in have hidden security camera's in them now. BUSTED!
What would Batman do when some one copyrighted his Bat insignia and sued him for using it?
Every superhero would be in trouble for Tax Evasion, and I can imagine sound bytes like...
"How can we trust the Justice Leauge when it's major economic supporters are all billionairs."
Oh, and you have to be a billionair now, beacuse even $100 million is barely enough to make a good movie, never mind actually effect anything.
Look at our real world enemies. Al Quida cell's hidden in our own country. Sucide Bombers. Small hard to find teams.
Even Superman couldn't have saved the World Trade Center. He might have stopped the Second plane, OR even figured out how to put out the fires in the first tower, but what about the Pentegon, and the Plane in Penn.
The only hero that could have stopped them would be Batman. The vigilantte detective who doesn't need a search warrent.
If there was such a thing as "approved" super-heros, they would be hounded like celebrities.
This is why I really don't follow Marvel or DC anymore, and why comic in general are loosing popularity.
Today's Superman is Neo! Because there' no room left to hide in our reality.

What a DARK way to see the world!
I dont belive that the world IS that bad!!
You say that today SUPERMAN,SPIDER-MAN,could save the world from the Terrosist attacks,it is true but as you(probably)know,Super heroes canīt be in every place.
I know stories that people that read comic books where "saved" by them from doing alot of wrong things.
Oh and i dont see how NEO would have stopped the terrorist attack sinse he would be busy on finding some VIRUS on the net.
