Well. I recently got some of my 3D mojo back. I'm working on a morph pak for Mr. Freak... and eventually all the Milly3 figures.
I don't think I've seen any morphs like these available.
The first is a long awaited... and rediculously difficult, NO EAR MORPH!
The second is a resonably difficult and incomplete, Stone Man morph. Of course I will have Crazy Ball Head in there too.
I have some other morphs planned that will be of special interest to comic book fans.
I would give them away for free... but I am SO broke since I can't find a job to save my life (coming close to be literal there) and I haven't had steady work since 9-11. Yep THE 9-11.
I will however make the morphs as cheap as I can.
It will be a real benefit to hero makers since it won't require additional geometry and all the expression morphs will work with the masks, morphs Etc.
Any requests get them in now. |

Here's a few more teasers.
I need feedback people!
What do YOU want to see?
How much would you pay for the morph pack?
Any critisism or comments.
I'm planning to release a free set of unimesh UVS files that will let you map your character to take evem more advantage of the morphs. |

These are really cool! I was surprised to see that the Wolverine mask was a morph -- nice job.
As far as pricing goes... it's hard to judge. You see some stuff with massive price tags and you wonder how they sell anything, then you see excellent stuff selling so cheaply you wonder if the vendor has lost their marbles. From what I've seen, morph injection packs for the Freak are usually between $5-$10. since these are original morphs and not just injectors, you could probably charge more, BUT you have to take into consideration that the market for hero-style morphs is much smaller than the market for big tit morphs for Vicki. In other words, I have no idea
Anyway, if you need a P5 beta tester, give me a shout. _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS

Cool. Thanks for the reply.
I think this pack has a good potential. People are crying the blues for Mike and freak stuff. While I'm concentrating on the head morphs at the moment, I don't intend to limit the pack to them.
I'm trying to decide if the mask seams should actually cover some of the face geometry, or if that trim ridge is good enough.
Making them morphs also overcomes some major limitations of other figures I've seen. Namely that the masks never hold the shape of the figures face. People might do more super hero pics when their heroes can actually show an emotion without Poke through.
I'm a little worried about copyrights too. I think I've skirted the issue in a couple of ways. No single morph will create a character. They have to be used in combonation. They aren't going to be named directly after any character.
For instance... Wolverine make use of a morphs I'm naming "Badger". Batman's Ears are called "Head Fins"
There will of course be a set for Vicky 3/StephP too at some point.
It turns out very few of the morphs will work on character they weren't designed for. For instance... Mike morphs need a lot of tweaking to work effectively on Freak.
If I get enough morphs, I might release individual packs for each figure. |

I think you're okay for copyrights, as long as it's not a case of a "one-click Batman" or something like that. And just to cover your ass, you may want to use different colours for the promo images -- i.e. if you're doing the kind of image above with the "head fins" guy, might want to make his mask green or something.
The trim ridge is enough, in my opinion. I would assume that overlapping the geometry would cause some texture warping on the skin portions, plus in harsher lighting, you may get some funky highlighting/shadowing. I don't know for sure this will happen, but it's the first thing I thought of. _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS

I just thought of a suggestion that should be relatively easy (at least compared to what you've been doing). You know how the Freak (and I assume M3) has that morph to have a raised ridge at his wrist to make is look like spandex? How about morphs like that for around the borders of the other material zones? So you could have a raised edge to the sleeve of a short sleeved shirt, or a raised edge to the top of a long glove, etc. _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS

I think he already has two. Do you really need more than two testes? I mean, I suppose some people might collect testes -- you never know... _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS

Oh.... is that what people mean when they say "You got balls Mister!!!!"
I have a few promotional ideas planned when the whole package comes togther, but this gives me another IDEA!!!
I'll make being a tester another of my promitions!!!
I'll post back with all the rules and regulations.
But the short end is... You have to submit 3 original characters of your own creation that you want to use the morph pak for. |
