I just watched an episode of the animated Justice League and I realized I have no clue who half the DC people are. I was just wondering who half the cast was since it had a ton of supporting crew around. people like Booster Gold I sort of know but there were so many I had no clue about. So, if anyone saw it and would like to help someone out .. who where some of the people.. Thanks.

Can you maybe describe them for us? :lol: From what I hear, the new JL series features 3/4 of the DC Universe.

I've had the same problems with some of the supporting characters. Just do an Internet search for the episode name; sometimes I got lucky doing that. (One character was B'Wana Beast, probably the most obscure person in the DC universe.) For my money (warning: unsolicited opinion coming), the JL Unlimited series has been phenomenal. I love seeing all the different characters in action. There's even a running plot of tension with the US military that's pretty cool.

I expect some of the other ones you may be having trouble with are from Jack Kirby's New Gods series. Guys like Lightray and Orion aren't particularly common in the comics of the last decade or so.

Actually I know Orion fairly well since I picked up the Walt Simonson run a couple of years back. There were a pile of them. Everything from a guy that looked like Dirk from the old animated game thing in the 80s riding a flying horse to a shadow type character with some red on his outfit and a cowboy riding a motorcycle. The title of the episode was Dark Heart and was written by Warren Ellis. There was also a few large figures .. One was in red and blue with an atom type symbol on his chest and a full mask and another was a robot in white .. almost iron giantish. There was just so mny of them that I didn't know. Another was a witch type in white and black that kind of looked a bit like the 80s scarlet witch. .. Anyway, just sort of realized ther is a lot I don't know. I mostly just know the batman books and a few other things and I am always interested in a lot of the teriary characters.

Think I found a list .. i still have no clue who half of them are LOL

Heroes seen but not heard and/or credited and their approximate first appearance in order include: Ice, Crimson Avenger, Green Arrow, Vixen, Green Arrow, Nemesis (aboard the Javelin plane), Shining Knight & Winged Victory, Supergirl, Green Lantern, Steel III, Dr. Fate, Captain Atom, Red Tornado (presumably rebuilt), Stars (Stargirl) and S.T.R.I.P.E., Dr. Light, Booster Gold, The Ray (initial flight formation), Atom Smasher, Vigilante (advancing ground formation), Huntress (disembarking from Javelin), Rocket Red, Aztek (misc. battle shots), Wildcat, Blue Devil (front line formation), Fire, Starman (later misc. battle shots), Vibe, Steel II (fighting behind Vixen), Dr. Mid-Nite (helping Elongated Man hold a rock in place), Black Canary, Gypsy, Obsidian, Crimson Fox, Hawk (group shot just after the drones go inert), Hourman (final group shot).

Thanks for the searching tip. And I agree tha this season has been pretty awesome ... Some episodes were really tight, some weren't as wonderful but they still worked. I really also liked the sort of tribute to the old superfriends show the episode before this.

A recent JLU episode featured the Ultimen...updated versions of some of the old Superfriends

Juice = Black Vulcan
Wind Dragon = Super Samurai
Long Shadow= Apache Chief
Downpour/Shifter =Wonder Twins

All the DC series cartoon series have been pretty cool to date!!! (Except for that NEW Batman on the WB)- Now if only MARVEL could follow suit!!! Most of their cartoons have been pretty lame (although the Spiderman/xmen stuff was decent enuff!)

Wait... Apache Chief's already been updated and reintroduced into the DCU, as Manitou Raven.

Here's the rundown on the characters you couldn't identify:

The guy who looks like "Dirk" riding a winged horse is the Shining Knight. The cowboy on the motorcycle is Vigilante. The guy who sort of looks like the Shadow with red on his outfit is the Crimson Avenger. The giant guy with the atom symbol on his chest is Atom Smasher. The robot-looking guy is S.T.R.I.P.E., sidekick to (depending whether JLI is current with the DCU or not) either the Star-Spangled Kid or Stargirl (girl in a costume modelled after the American flag carrying a staff that fires energy bolts). The "Scarlet Witch"-type is (the good) Doctor Light, not to be confused with the evil, male Doctor Light. I also noticed a number of older Justice Society characters in that episode, including Wildcat and Doctor Midnight, and also a guy with a gun who I *think* is the Human Target.

I think that answers them all... *whew!*

JL Unlimited is a mix of characters from the Crisis Earth phase of DC. It is the remainder of what survived the crisis of the infinite earths becoming one. Therefore, you will see characters who haven't seen the light of press in probably 20 years or more.
