Hey everybody,

I'm looking for a quick tutorial on how to make believable comic book word bubbles in Photoshop. I thought there already was one here, but can't find it!

The default word bubbles aren't doing the trick anymore.

The easiest way is to place your text, then use the pen tool to create a vector shape for the actual balloon part. Use a "stroke" effect for an outline. For the "tail" of the balloon -- the part that points to the speaker -- use the pen tool set to add to the existing balloon rather than creating a new layer.

i have a set of word balloon brushes for PS7 somewhere. . . .
i dunno where i stashed the file when i started lettering stuff in Illustrator.

Either way. . .make custom brushes, saves time.
