Yes
There was a discussion on Byrne's 3D work back in the days of the 3dCC mailing list. _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS

I don't know about the rest of you but I was a tad bit offended by his remark about people "Chroming" the Silver Surfer! As if HIS mind's eye view of the Silver Surfer were the only truely viable option for that hero! |

Okay I've known JB used Strata for a couple of years now. I even checked out his gallery that Strata show cased a while back, but what really blew me away in that article was that John Byrne uses Poser!
I about fell out of my chair when I read that. I don't care if he uses it professionally or not just the fact that someone at his level of artistic talent will use it as part of his tool set shows that it isn't about the program it's what you do with it. |

| Wild, I wouldn't have guessed he was a Poser Person. He's alwasy been my favorite CB Artist, His work on The X-Men is what got me hooked on his style an the book. I can see how Poser would helpout an artist with Drawing the Human Figure. The Hardest Part of Drawing (For me at least) is comming up with things off the top of my head without a visual referance. But I guess that comes from learning to draw by Useing Comic Books wich I heard was a bad way to learn?. What blew me away was learning Hickman an Wies (Dragonlance fame) also use Poser an a few other Prgs to create there characters. |

| Also, I'm told through a credible source Byrne also animated the laser blasts in "The Empire Strikes Back." He's got quite a portfolio of work. His work on the early Alpha Flight comic is still some of my favorite. |

I've always enjoyed his SlushFactory column. And yeah, I remember reading some of those discussions on the 3DCC mailing list, Jim.

*shrug* Way too many people do make him into the "Chrome Surfer". For that matter, Bryne's example looks like the Stainless Surfer. [Not the best silver shader I've seen...]
He worked on the book for a long time, and he knows most of the creators and their origional vision for the characters... his view is as valid as anyone elses - and more based in a creator's "official" perspective rather than a fans. 'Course, given what Paramount and others have done in the Sakret Name of Canon, I'm not always impressed with "Official Visions"....
Hey - not like he can twist your arm and make you *not* chrome your versions. ;]
Hrmm.... I have a pretty decent FastTraxx corrosion shader in my Bryce libraries somewhere. The "Tarnished Surfer", anyone? ;] _________________ "I'd add a legitimate comment here, but that would mean reading everything, which I have no patience for." - Slynky
