Pls ..........i need help from u......!!!
i've created a head in 3d modeller as an obj file...that file when imported as a prop into poser than replaced the p4man head with my prop...this head does not morph and also i cannot animate the mouth ,eyes..etc........!!!!!
how can this be solved or is there any other way of making the created head to work as normal poser character...........!!!!!!!! |

| you'll need to create your own morphs for the prop you made (eyes, nose, mouth etc), you won't be able to use the ones from the original character |

if you're going to do it in poser the easiest way would be to create an empty scene, import your obj, then use magnets to create the morph you watn, export as "morph1", delete your object, re-import your original and then apply the morph you just created to it in the properties....this is a long way of doing it
easiest way would be to create each morph in the program you made the model in and then apply it to the orginal obj in poser
z-brush isn't bad for making morphs either....just takes a little bit to get used to...but basically the same process, create one export, create one export, create one export..........
as far as making morphs for eyes, mouth etc...good luck those can be tedious and frustrating |

Or load up the head in daz studio, then use the plug-in 'morphloader' to transfer the morphs from the original to the newly created one, save your work and re-open in poser. Should work. |

mod and sharby... Hey sharby, it seems you appear to have a split personality, according to what I read here. |

What? Now don't tell me that you never planned a reunion for all of them? |

Imported the head model into poser ......the properties box shows only:::scale,trans and rotate ..n o other features.......so when i use magnet to deform i only get the transformation of the model in resizing and rotating ,........i can't move the eye, nose or any other part like done in poser figures.....!!!!! why this is happening.......???????
I tried to manipulate the 3d head model in the modeller itself by creating anger, smile etc models and saved these as .obj files......!!!!!!
I used each of these models as morph targets in poser to the original non-manipulated head model..!!
what happened u know........!!.......I kept the original model as it is in frame 1of 100..........moved to frame 50 and applied the morph by dialling (applied the effect to 0.002)...
at this juncture the model resized to 10 times bigger......when i animate the model is normal at frame 1 and the morphing takes place gradually with the increase in size (zooming) of the model...
pls tell me where i've done the mistake.....!!!!!
the original model(obj) and all the morph targets (obj files) are of same sizes and have same number of vertices and polygons...!!!!!
I even checked the animating factor of the figure, camera etc........no solution.....!!!!
pls help me.............!!!!!.......!!!!!
pls help me.............!!!!!.......!!!!!
pls help me.............!!!!!.......!!!!! |

#1: Calm down. No need for hysterics.
#2: Magnets must be loaded separately in Poser. Load your head model, make sure it's selected, then go to to the Objects menu and select "Create Magnet". The magnet is made up of three parts. There's a circle which represents the "Zone" or area you want to effect, the Magnet base which acts as a point of reference, and the magnet itself which does the deforming. Resize and position the Magnet zone to cover the area you want, then select the magnet and start moving it around and watch the deformations.
#3: I think the resizing that's occuring when you load the external morph target has to do with the program you used. When you imported the original OBJ in, the program tried to change the units to resize it. You don't want that. Poser models are really REALLY tiny but every change you make in a 3D program will affect the final morph target, including scaling it. Check your 3D program settings when you import and make sure that you don't rescale the incoming OBJ at all. _________________ "Flash, quit heckling the supervillain!" - Green Lantern

thanx...sharby..3dhunter and....GlitchGirl.........for ur comfortable replies...
I used the magnet principle of deformation ...the complete head deforms.........like twist,scale,bend...etc....not head parts..........I mean that it is not effective to individual head parts..like ear,mouth,nose....etc..........!!!!!!
I checked as per GlitchGirl #3 reference ...I've carefully done and exported the models from the modeller as it is in.obj format..........the original model and the deformed models are of same size, have same vertices and polygon....!!!!!.......only thing is that the deformed model has the changes in the head parts like smile, wink, mouth open , ears big, monster appearance.....etc.....
I hope the final solution is to make a Poser figure.....i mean to create a .cr2 files from .obj files.............!!!!!!!
Does anyone know know how to create an .obj file to fully poseable .cr2 file..........???????
pls guide me.........!!!!!! |

He he (been there).....if you have poser pro, 5 or 6 in the modeling room basically you import your object, then have to setup a bone structure from scratch to match your figure (may be able to use a premade one then tweak it), body part gouping, rotation boundaries the whole shebang.....simple objects aren't bad, the more complex the figure the more work, then of course you have texture mapping blah blah blah...
If you're patient and don't mind tedious work it won't be too bad, if you try to get it done in a day you'll just get frustrated.
If you only have P4 then this won't work for you, for that you'll need PHI builder, works ok to a point, you'll have to do a lot more in your front end modeling program (bodypart naming etc)
Good luck....and take deep breaths |
