I probably already know the answer to this, but I'm too tired to think:
Once I've applied a morph to a figure, is there a way to save the figure with that morph as a permanent change to the geometry? |

Yeap
Once you've applied the morph and set it to 1 you need to export the figure (make sure it's completely zeroed first) as an obj. Untick everything on export except 'include existing groups' (or whatever the specific words are! I don't have Poser open atm) and save somewhere you'll remember it. You'll then need to point your cr2 to the new obj, or create a new cr2 and point that to it.
Hope that helps |

Thanks much.
I was about to ask how I would redirect the cr2 to the new obj, but I took a minute to actually open and examine a cr2 file (for the first time) and I see what I need to do.
Now you've got me curious about cr2's. Is there a tutorial anywhere that explains what's going on in those files and what you can do with it? |

Run a search at Renderosity in the Poser forum for Nerd and rbtwhiz ... should get some good hits. Those guys know the ins and outs and somewhere out there floats an indepth look at cr2's |
