Well, this honestly has very little to do with anything. Will Eisner's last story appeared in the book, which is probably why it was favored to win the award.
Still... it's like the Oscar's of the comic book industry to win this award. It means that book will be more collectable and even more note worthy.
So why do I care. It's the first comic book I ever worked on.
I was a color flatter for one of the story's that appeared in THAT book.
It's like winning the Lottery.... for about $50 , but hey it's still a win!!! That's definatly resume filler! |

Congrats, man! I'm sure it was the sublime beauty of the flats that proved to be the deal-breaker. _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS

Congrats!
Ah, to be a comics professional!
What did you think of the finished colors over your flats?
What was the first thing you said when you saw the finished book? |

Thanks all.
I'd seen the finished colored pages before the book ever came out. Milo Stone was the colorist and friend of mine. He did a terrific job.
In fact... in all modesty... the story we worked on was the best drawn and colored one in the book.
I remember going into my favorite comic shops and finding the issue. It was just kind of sureal.
Right now I'm doing practice pages in Illustrator and trying to teach my self Inking and coloring. Most of the industry uses Photoshop, but I love the super clean draftsman quality lines that Illustrator produces.
I may have another book to flat by mid August. |
