I have created a MS PowerPoint honoring the heroes who fight against evil and terror in the world.
In the presentation - which can be viewed online without audio - or downloaded with audio (I highly recommend this version!!! even though it is a 37 meg download) I have used "Comic Heroes" to help make the my point.

The heroes are a collection of those found on various sites or created by me using assorted props, textures, etc from animotions and their fine members, as well as renderosity and a few others.

There is no real political message intended other than that the world has changed and some of our innocence will be forever lost.
If you are a Bush hater, anti-american or anti-military, then be forewarned - you may not like it. But I ask that you watch it with an open mind and realize that the message is about Heroes - not politics.
I hope you enjoy it.

You can find it at my website

www.jimwalls.net

Click on the HEROES link to watch it online.
Click on the SALUTING HEROES image to download the presentation with audio. (You must have PowerPoint installed to view this version)

Thank You, Jim

Normally I don't make comments on material like this - But Im going to anyway.

1) I love the idea you used. Very nicely done.

2) I love how you portrayed the men and women fighting for freedom.

3) As a Candian, I may not have to deal with your politics on a day to day basis, but it does affect the whole worle, and with that said...
• Putting Bush in as a Hero is the worst thing I have ever seen. He has not been a hero to the Military, if anything, he is the Lex Luthor of the real world. Power hungry, conceited, and uninformed.
• Saying that Bush, Cheny, Rumsfell and Rice understand the risks involved in what they have sent the men and women of the Military to do is just wrong. Not one of them understands the risks. Is Bush out there with them? Is Cheney still hiding, as he has been for most of his term, in some hidden bunker? Same for Rumsfell...Same for Rice. Not one them realizes what they have started, and does not appear to end. This battle should be between the politicians only. Let them go stand on the front lines, risk their lives, rather than letting Bush run rampant, starting something that he can no longer finish (ala Vietnam), and dragging so many other countries into it with him.

4) I would have to disagree with what you said how the World learned to live with small terrorist activities until Sept 11th. That is completely false. North America learned to live with it (That includes Canada), but the World in large has been fighting it long before Bush decided to hitch up his britches and get involved. That only happened when the attack finally came home to haunt North America. Terrorist attacks are not new - Military powers all over have been aiding in fighting it for decades now. Russia has been one of the leaders in that fight (And also one of the causes of it as well). But the US and Canada turned a blind eye to it until it was right on their front door step.

5) As for Canada, you should research how many current Canadian Military are stationed over there, under US and/or Canadian and/or British command. Your numbers are not even close. Sorry.

So lastly, I applaud you for recognizing the men and women of the World Millitary. They truly are the heroes of today, in real life.

But your depiction of the Government as being a part of that hero legazy; Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice. That is completely inaccurate, and history has already shown us that from their actions and comments., and the books will not remember them kindly.

Now, Im sure you are PO'd right now - And maybe some others may be as well. But you post something like this - You have to expect to hear the dirty truth.

Not PO'd at all. I expected it to be controversial. The numbers of personnel involved are dated for current time frame. But the date represented is clearly stated. As for the US leaders being Heroes (very polarizing I know), the point is that they took "active" action to make a difference. How many bombings, kidnappings, murders, hijackings, assasinations, etc., have been committed over the decades and no concerted action taken on more than a limited/token front. Regardless of the nation. Plus I freely admit that many nations - including the US - have been way too lax in taking serious the actions of terrorists.

As for "the confrontations should be between the politicians" - wouldn't that be great - there would be much less angst in the world if they had to personally/physically bear the consequences of conflicts.

I think its too early for anyone to say what history will declare about this time - but I personally think that the history books will look at this time as a turning point for the world good. But who knows.

And by the way, one of the most beautiful renditions I have ever heard of our national anthem was sung by a member of the Canadian militray at the 911 ceremony up there.
