|

Hi Everyone! I am new to the Forums. A friend actually told me about this site and I couldn't wait to join! Which brings me to my question...
I have downloaded several Marvel Characters from the FreeStuff section. I use DAZ Studio, so naturally, I was confused when I saw that the files were .DS_Store files. This is new to me. I have been using DAZ for a couple of months, and I would very much like to create a Superman comic, but I don't know how to use the .DS_Store files. I am used to just installing the files into DAZ and working with them.
Can someone please explain to me how to use the Superman .DS_Store files for DAZ (Michael 2 or 3). Thank you for taking the time to read my post.
These are the Programs at my disposal:
DAZ Studio
PaintShop Pro
PhotoShop
MS PhotoDraw
Photo-Brush |

I'm assuming the files you downloaded were from Aremis (Muskateer Graphics). The DS_Store files are just Mac OS files and have nothing to do with the actual download. I don't know how these things work in DAZ Studio, as I don't use it, but you can combine the texture files Aremis made with your favourite M3/V3 textures in Photoshop using the alpha channels. _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS

How do I do this. Please forgive my ignorance, I have never done this before. |

| Well...thanks anyway. I was able to use the .jpg and .png files for the Superman to work with Michael 2. |

Sorry I didn't respond sooner -- I ended up in the ER yesterday.
In Photoshop, open both the Superman texture and the M3 texture. Check the image sizes (IMAGE > IMAGE SIZE) for both and if they're different, resize which ever one is bigger so they match. In the Supes one, go to SELECT > LOAD SELECTION. When the pop-up comes up, choose ALPHA CHANNEL. You'll see that a section of the image is now selected. You can copy it and paste it into the M3 texture, then save under a different name. _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS
