Ultimate DC the backround story

Thought I'd post my notes on the world before posting the series....he ya' go:

You were 15 years old, your parents were circus acrobats, The Flying Graysons, John "Eagle" Grayson and Kim "Sparrow" Grayson. They promised when you turned 16 you would be in the act they were so afraid their little Robin would be hurt. Were. Some low life thug ended their lives two days before you're 16th Birthday. The last year you have been living with him in New York Billionaire Bruce Wayne: the Batman. Sharing a world with him you never thought possible, he's the only family you have now but, sometimes he thinks some cases are too dangerous, sometimes he's gone for weeks, the mansion gets lonely, what's a teen wonder suposed to do?

Your father is a leader of a group of rebels trying to liberate Israel from the Jews. His peers in the fight don't respect him even, so each attack he becomes more and more blood thirsty. One week ago he aquired the means to give him Metahuman powers. You were afraid that 1) what he would do to so many innocent Israelites and 2) if the process would kill him. You tried to stop the process, you failed, but gained meta abilities yourself. Your father called you a bird of death for that act, a raven. You have come to America to enlist the aid of the legendary Batman, but New York is a big town and his partner says he is away...what do you do.

You have grown up in flash, literally, your grandfather was the original flash and you have gained the same abilities. Another man has taken the title of Flash, but you will honor your grandfather, but the red and blue costume is so...lame, the new Flash's costume is better but..., your name is Wally West and you have just decided to become Kid Flash.

You are a girl without a past. Rescued by Wonder Woman when you were 7 and raised by her mother in a hidden city next to the Amazon River. Diana has brought you back to the country of your birth so that you may get a better education that can only be found in a prestigious New York School. Little does your big sister know that you have a different education for yourself planned.

Your parents were heros: The doom patrol you were Beast Boy, they're dead and you've just inherited millions of dollars, your life is all about change. What is a boy to do with all this money?

You came to America to be the newest teen model, strawberry blond hair, tan skin, and a cool Meta human ability, the power to fly! The world is your oyster. One night you were kidnapped and raped and you found out another ability and yet despite that tradgedy you met the boy of your dreams, Robin and you've been trying to find him so you could fully thank him.

The surface world is strange and you still don't know what your older brother Orin sees in it. Like all Kings of Atlantis he was given the Trident of Poisiden that grants him abilites far beyond those of normal Alanteans. He is your idol and although you can not gain the same abilities he has you've been studying ancient Alantian magik and its time to prove that you are everybit the hero he is.

The Justice League has been compared to the Gods of myths, we are determined to be bigger...Titans.

Just adding to this one to give you all the bigger picture of this world.
Superman, sole survivor of Krypton. Krypton's gravity is 2 times that of earth giving him enhanced abilities. His rocket ship that brought him to Earth is shown to him at 18, a Kryptonian holo tells him of his planet and gives him special bands that are placed on his wrist and ankles (they are what the Kryptonian Military wore, it gives the far greater strength, the ability to flie and a personal force field, in addition he gets a visor (which retracts into his body, like the bands,Krptonian Tech) which gives him laser vision (offensive weapon), telescopic vision, x ray vision. His great Grandfather Zon-El originally developed this after Rao Zealots took control of Erokol and threatned to destroy the city if there was any intervention. Zon-El a great scientist used this gear to become Nightwing he later had a partner named Flamebird. His son Mon-El would later develop the tech to its current state (adding the vision capabilities as well as the strength) and gave the tech to the goverment during the Krypton/Daxam war. (yes, there's a few stories in there that do tie into Valor). Jor-El adds this to the rocket in an effort for his son to protect himself. The bands and visors once donned become bonded to the wearers body and can be concealed by retracting into the body. Superman's costume looks more like a mix between Superman/Captain America. He adopts the name Superman because his friends had called him Superboy in highschool, (straight A's and the ultimate jock). I'll post my histories of the rest some other time.
Costumes:
Robin, very similar to the Robin costume worn by Knightwing in John Byne's Elseworlds, the R would be smaller
Kid Flash, I metioned this alreay, the yellow/orange kid flash costume except red/bule logo would be a silver lightning bolt no circle.
Raven, much like the one she wears with a Muslim twist to it, so you couldn't see any flesh and only her eyes.
Wonder Girl, would be much like the darkstar uniform with an a gold eagle breastplate
Changling, wouldn't change his costume, but would make the turning green thing something he could control and he would be a little more beefier
Starfire, a slew of skimpy costumes, no mask, she wants the world to know who she is.
Tempest, something that would look royal
Superman: Cape red, Body suit 3/4 blue and and 1/4 white the white being on the right side. Gold bands on wrist and ankles, a mask like Knightwing of generations (again) open face the visor would come down when in use. Superman logo halfway between the white and blue sides of Bodysuit over his heart.
Is anyone feeling this?

Oh yeah, Superman would be Detroit's hero.
Batman would have New York, WonderWoman would be in Boston, Flash, Chicago. Green Lantern, Arizona. Flash family and Wonder Woman next.

Cyborg: mentioned in issue one before the cyborg incindent, smart intelligent black man who see himself as a Malcom X ot the new millenium.

Terra: Princess from a European Country, mentioned in issue one, she would be an old friend of Changling from his Beast Boy days when the Doom Patrol liberated her country. What is not known is that she staged the Coup' d'etat with the help of Slade Wilson to become the ruler of her country. Both her parents are dead and now her brother Brian is King. She is not a happy camper but pretends to be.

Superman Sole survivor of Krypton sent to Earth by Jor-El.
Differences: Krypton's gravity is double that of Earths making
Superman only twice as strong than the average man. Jor-El includes
Kryptonian Army gear in hopes that his son will become a champion of Earth
like Kal's great Grandfather who was Nightwing. The gear was developed by
Nightwing and consist of anti-gravity bands that go on the wrist and ankles,
strength enhancer bands, which go in the same place, and a personal force
field belt. It also includes a visor that grants the wearer telescopic,
x-ray and heat vision. The gear was donated to the Kryptonian government by
Jor-Els Grandfather to help the planet during the Krypton/Daxam war. The
gear under a yellow sun is a lot more powerful than that under a red sun.
It is genetically locked so only someone from the El family line can use it.
The gear is able to phase in and out of our time/space and is always on
Superman. Jor included several of these in the rocket as well as a
Kryptonian lab robot, a holo of himself that chronicles Krypton. Jonathan
Kent is the first to see the holo, which instructs him to share this with
Clark when he is of age. Clark during high school is an honor roll student,
track, basketball and football player. He joins the Marine Corps out of
High School and when he is discharged finishes up college. It is then when
Jonathan Kent reveals Clark's legacy.

Robin: Basically the same, except orphaned at age 14. His father helped
train a younger Bruce Wayne. Bruce Wayne is Robin's Godfather and is why he
takes custody of the boy. Dick Grayson was trained in several martial arts
before becoming under Batman's tutelage. Costume is slightly different than
Tim Drakes current costume.

Batman: same story except the murderer of his parents was stopped from
killing Bruce by Dr. Midnight and during his training a young Bruce Wayne
studied the high flying act of the Flying Graysons.

Wonder Woman: The same background, with the exception that Paradise Island
is moved every century or so. Costume a lot different resembles armor.
Diana is not super powered but uses the items that were used by Artemis
during her role as Wonder Woman. Her mother used the same items in WW2 to
become Fury. It was then declared that they would send a champion to Man's
world when things seemed to threaten the entire world. Competition on who
became the champion same as our WW.

Wonder Girl: rescued from a burning building by the above and raised by
WW's mother. Her only ability is that she is invulnerable.

Flash, Barry Allen nothing has changed much

Kid Flash, Wally West grandson of Jay Garrick the original Flash. Not a
side kick to the above but has trained with him and his Grandfather.

Aquaman and Aqualad: Alantis kings are usually born with a twin one becomes
King, the other Guardian of Alantis. Aquaman was born alone and as told in
a prophecy became both, his power and abilities are pretty much the same.
Aqualad is the younger brother who wants to step into the role of Guardian
he had studied magic under their father Atlan is not quite as adept in the
use of his magical abilities.

Green Lantern: Hal Jordan is the second man to take the position as Earth's
Green Lantern the first being Alan Scott who's affinity for magic caused him
to gain powers similar to a Green Lantern without the ring.

Starfire, a female from a very wealthy tribe in Africa was discovered by
photo journalist and thrust into the world of modeling, Originally thought
only to have the power of flight, after her tragedy discovered her ability
to fire bolts of pure energy called "star bolts"

Changeling, originally a member of Doom Patrol with his Step Father and
Mother when Doom Patrol was killed, He inherited his stepfathers vast
financial empire. Has hopes of being a Hollywood star and finances the
Titans so he may get exposure.

Raven, raised in a terrorist group call Trigon; her father used technology
to turn himself into a Super being, and then proclaimed himself Trigon. Her
attempt to stop her father gaining these powers gave her the ability to
teleport and the ability to take someone else's injury and make it her own,
thereby healing them and the ability to heal herself.

Tula, Aqua lads childhood friend/girlfriend

Tara Markov, Markovian princess whose parents were killed during a coup
d'etat, It was her plead for help that brought Doom Patrol to Markovia,
where they died. Her brother Brian who gained powers during the incident is
now King and protector of his people as Geo Force.

Victor Stone, a young black activist who see Dayton Industries (One of
Gar's companies) as "the Man" the company began as a slave plantation in
the late 18th Century. He feels that the company has not paid its debt to
the African American race.

Well, it's nice to mix things up, but I think you've killed a lot of the things that make some of these characters who they are.

If Batman's parent's don't die, there is NO Batman, or other Bat-releated heroes. You're ripping out the core of Batman and turning him into The Donald.

You've established Atlantian "magic" and Alan Scott using "magic" to gain the powers of the Green latern. So why eliminate the Magic origin's of Raven?

The Islamic angle is interesting but I think you need to be closer her demonic origins instead of going for the Genetic cop out. Genetics is the new "Radiation" of 60 comics. Since your universe has Magic anyway, might as well use it. Demon/human spawn hybrids date back much further than Genetic Engineering.

If Superman is still from Krypton and the Latern's are still Galactic defenders, why would Starfire be from Africa? You've got Aliens in this universe.

There's some interesting things, but it seems like some stuff was changed just to change it.

To make things more real like the Ultimate's you need to examine the cause and effect of real physics, and socioligy on these characters and explain why they are who they are. Not change them into other people.

Oh... Brazil is a much better place to hide Starfire. :wink:

Bruce was saved....his parents died, seeing Dr. Midnight inspired him to be a costumed hero, the bat still provided the bat motif.

Raven, there's more....to the story...I've writen the first two issues, and plotted the first 24, in it the truth behind Raven and who is Donna Troy...

Green Lantern, I touched on didn't really put much into them since they won't appear in any stories...at first I thought I'd use them but then I let the plot takeover....no GLs or at least none that will resemble those above...perhaps Alan, but Hal I have to put energy into

Starfire, brazilian yeah I see it, but African could mean Egyptian but I was thinking more about some of the Islands that have creole races, like the Cape Verde Islands. (I did my homework on the main charecters).

Genetics cop out, no. This guy brought and paid for his powers a combo of tech and magic, the powers were tailor made for him, how Raven gets her abilities makes sense.

Why is Superman and alien and Starfire not I want to make aliens something "special" her story could be told without the alien stuff, Supes is a more toned down alien than he was but strange vistor part well that's who Supes is, taking the alien part out would take the "S" out of his name, plus it serves as a good backstory for Nightwing.
