Challenge idea

I thought of something that might make a good, friendly challenge. Not so much a contest but sort of a monthly, fun thing to get interest back up in the site.

What I was thinking of was a character challenge. Pick a character for the month and then do renders of them. Just a friendly competition to get stuff going again.

I like the idea as well. This site, under it's original name (which I forget) is what brought me into the Poser world to begin with. I leave, I come back always forgeting my username but upon my last return home I find it's empty. I'm up for this!

I can rattle off a bunch of characters i haven't seen on this site
coming out of the ultraverse

Warstrike
Hardcase
From Entity comics
Aster
Notice that I was staying away from the main characters like spiderman,superman,batman,X-men
since mostly what is seen is the mainline characters
just an idea and a few charcters to throw into the hat.

I can honestly say I am not sure if I have heard of any of them. That can have its good points and bad points but I think that for the first couple we should maybe do something that is on a lot of people's mind. I was thinking of an XMan (since the movie is out now) or Superman (since the movie will be out) ... Normally whenever there is a movie release it draws renders out of people and I think we should cater to that. At least for the first couple.

Maybe for the month of June we could do an X Man and just leave it as open as that. Or we could narrow it down to Wolverine or if we want to go a little more obscure we could take a more lesser known Xperson or even Xperson villain. Then for July we could do Superman and then the months are open since there is no movie tie ins.

I just figured we could exploit the natural tendency at first.

That sounds good i was just tossing a few characters into the hat
I wasn't empressed with X3 but that is for another topic.
It might be a good idea to narrow down the characters abit instead of leaving it open with X-men since there are hundreds of characters alone in the x-titles through out the years
but i am game for any of it
by the way is there a challenge gallary that away they are not mixed with all the other images

I don't think there is a challenge gallery but I think it could go in the normal one well enough since it is fairly quiet around here. Maybe a post to a link here when you upload it?

Perhaps, in the main gallery, you can post you images with a prefix like Monthly challenge (or something shorter

). Linking sounds good too.

That would help untill a Challenge Gallery is open, perhaps?

I can make a challenge gallery if you want, but like Ghost said, there's not a huge amount of stuff in the main gallery, so might be best to just do it there. Up to you guys.

For the month of June create characters from the X-men movies That narrows down it down a bit but also leaves less known or less created characters in the pot.
then how hard would it be to send out a special news letter letting everyone know the theme and that the challenge has started on the 1st?

Okay .. We could narrow it down to one person or we could keep it more open for those people that want to do other ones. The problem with adding a bunch of other people is that it is hard to base a challenge on since they are different parameters. Since that is the case I say we do one character. I will open it up for nominations until May 31 and then we will start on June 1. Vote for the weird characters and we will do that. Vote for the mainstream and we will do that

I will open it up with Wolverine. I still like him even if I am getting kind of sick of him being in "everything." Seconded? Someone else? It is all up to you ...

I propose Cyclops, but I'm keen on dooing Wolverines too.
