Posted: Wed Jun 25, 2008 6:44 am Post subject: Monthly Challenge Rules and whatevers
A couple of people have asked in the past what the rules are and frankly, there are no set rules to it.
I would like to write here a set of basic guidelines for the challenges, make it a bit more organized. If possible, if a Mod can make this a sticky it would be pretty helpfull
This rules here are just what we've been doing/talking about so far. I'm open to suggestions. about them, ok? To qoute Pirates of the Caribbean, these are more like guidelines
Ok, without further ado....
a) You can post as many entries as you want. AS there is no prize in this, it would seem dumb to limit the quantity of entries
b) If you're gonna comment on another members entry, please do it in a constructive way (I have no power what so ever to do anything about this, but since I kinda run this show, I would like everyone to play nice, ok? )
c) Voting for each month theme will run from the 15th of each month until beginning of the next month. (Subject to change, see the alternatives in the July theme voting thread)
d) At the first of each month, either myself or Folded (my un-official partner in this) will post a thread will links to every entry for that month so anyone can vote. Voting will go up to the 15th of ech month, where the winner will be announced.
e) I normally announce the winner, unless I happen to win, when I let Folded do it (it seems poor taste from my part to says "hey guys!, I won!").
f) You can vote for three entries, except your own. When voting ends, all votes, no matter if they were second or third choices, are accounted for the determine who is the winner (If you guys want to change this, I'm open to suggestions).
g) For now, the only prize is bragging rights. The idea of letting the winner pick next month's theme is on the table as well. In the case of a tie in the theme voting (as happener for the august theme) the last winners choice would be the theme.
h) Some months could be used for fixed themes (Feb for Valentine, October for Halloween, December for Xmas, etc...)
I think that's all. Question, suggestions and critics are welcome about this.
