Two things actually. One, the really cool picture on the wall, and the very nicely done lighting. It gives the scene a mood without any characters present. Even if you hadn't said it was Roq's, you'd get the idea this isn't where the good guys hang out. It has that evil feel to it.

As long as they wear short skirts, and nice sheer black stockings.. they can be anything they want. (*grins*) I will get some lady slapping me for that one, but hey, I am a guy and I don't mind seeing ladies like that. On the professional note (being in the ROTC for four years)... anything higher then 1 inch above the knee will demand corporal punishment.
(mostly joking.. a little tired, so my humor may be a little off center)
As far as who Roq.. that tells me two things, neither of it is bad. One, you are new to me (you haven't met me before this post, etc), and that fine.. it is cool to meet new people. Heck, I met two..really strange individuals who are rivaling my lunacy as we speak. (hey Cav and Argo)
The other thing it tells me is you probably never read or seen, or gotten to Issue 3 of my web comic that goes under the name of Heresy. Can be found under Online Comics on this site, but if you want to go there without worrying about the other nice comics listed .. the link is http://heresy3d.net
Now, to answer your question. Roq was a man who was born during the times of Noah, as in the Ark. Burned with jealousy and lust, the devil had saved him from the great flood, and granted him his very desire..power, women, and gold to fill his greed. however, this had a terrible price. First, he must serve Lucifer for all time. Second, he was deformed into a demon. He can shift into a humanly form, but his natural is a demon-like shape.
On the flip side of the scale, he is also the embodiment of hate. If there is a hater in the world, he probably had some dealings in it (he is a fictional character, but he is a symbolization in my comic of the hatred clans of men and women.) In the universal balance, where one extreme exists..and another must as well..whereas Kayla is the embodiment of love.
One of the things about Kayla is she is far from perfect. She is part human, part goddess..and her human part are prone to emotions. So she can love, hate, and everything..however, she must overcome herself to save the world from Roq's unadulterated hate.
Attached is a picture of Roq and Roq human form, Rev. MacDonald. Now, Roq spits on all mankind..no matter what religion they are..and even goes as far in the movie as saying that he spits on the words of god, even though he preaches them ot a group of men. He is what I would refer to as a false priest, a priest who uses his position only for his own gain, and not what he was ordained for..or what we would percieved someone of this status as. He taking a group from a religion that says "Love your brother" and tells them to go burn witches. In my storylines, he had a hand in what happened during the Salem Witch Trials, someone inciting or causing tensions to ignite that kind of crazy fury.
If you have any other questions about roq, the comic, Kayla, whatever..feel free to ask more.. I don't mind answering. To set the record straight, while I do have opinions against the Church of Christ, they do not reflect my total opinion against it members. I seen the good, and the bad. I met a man who was a gangbanger in los angelos, and religion actually helped him. He is actually a very calm man right now. I also seen men who come into my checklanes, and try to hand me the bible saying it is my salvation. Never bothering to ask if I believe or not, they just assumed that I really want it. Thankfully, there are enough people I have met in the christian religions that I have fondness of to have an opinion that "Don't allow the ones who you don't really like judge an entire population." It is kind of like what my mom told me once in Springfield. Don't allow a small flock of idiots of any race affects your opinion of the bigger population. The idiots are truely the minority.
If I said anything to upset you, I apologize. As most people who know me, I am opinionated, but I do respect others opinions. They may be different from my own, but life would be too boring if everyone thought like me.

whoa, what a post! quite a novel! just kidding ... well yeah, I am new here, and I'm still browsing around, checking all sorts of stuff in this site, and Im sure I would've eventually bumped into your *cool* creations, like Roq on my own.
Excellent work and nice story line intro (reminds me of the intro of mummy2/bs dracula/spawn), I've checked your site, good stuff too (when would the character page be finished?)
