I can't really see it, so that's why I was asking. Maybe, just maybe, something with comics could work, like onlinecomics.net . There are tons of free comics there, but they have this system where people actually pay about 15 cents per page on certain comics. You may think "who would pay to read online comics?" ... well, if your comics are good enough, a bunch of people would, that's who.
I'm not saying "copy the system", I'm just saying "it's a model that's working for them", that's all.
You let people preview a bunch of pages for free, get them hooked (ideally) and then start charging for the new pages.
So, maybe, instead of charging per page, there could be a system here were people would subscribe monthly "premier style" and then have access to the paid comics.
I realize there may not be enough comics in this site to make this type of account economically viable, but it's kind of the only way I could envision this. People subscribing just to see better quality images from better artists here (as it works at 'rotica) is a model I don't really see working here.
It's just one idea, hopefully more people will come up with much better ones. _________________ **************

I have to add my two cents to this.
I think Animotions would shoot itself in the foot somehow if they went to a "Premium" membership, specially if its to view peoples work, or access downloads.
People have shared their downloads here freely for many years now, and would just refrain from doing so.
And like you said, there arent many online comics through Animotions, and I know I for one wouldnt post my images someplace that requires people signing up and paying a fee to view them. I would much rather not post them them charge someone. Before you know it, newbies are posting images just to get money, the talent level will drop, viewers will disapear, yadda yadda yadda.
My recomendation if someone wants to make money off a comic book they have created, is sell it as a full featured application rather than an online "Post a page" variety.
But then thats my two cents. I use to post images at 'Rotica when it first began, and did for over a year. When then whole format changed, I pulled my images, and chose to share through both Rosity and 3D-CC.
But again, like I said, my two cents. 49.95$ American

I agree with Aremis on this. I can't see any pay system working on this site. One major reason can be seen on quick browse through the galleries and downloads -- 99% of them contain copyrighted characters. _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS

well, all I was talking about was www.onlinecomics.net . They have this pay-per-page system and it works for a lot of people. And I agree in some of your points, except the one where a pay site would make the talent level go down, because I see it completely the other way.
If a comic is 100% crap, I doubt anyone will want to pay to keep on reading it if you started charging for it (and if it's crap, people probably won't read it even if you give it for free)... but if your comic is good enough for people to get interested in following it, then probably they will. Then, instead of decreasing your level, you would normally try to improve your skills so your material is worthy enough for some people to pay for seeing it.
In the end, it's all a matter of personal choices. No one will have a gun pointed at their forehead to click on "Pay to see the next page". If you wanna pay, you will, if you don't, you won't. I mean, it's so simple like that.
I'm just having an open mind about this... if people enjoy making 3d artwork and comics just for the sake of sharing them with the community, then let them be! If other people want to make 3d artwork and comics and would like to be remunerated for it, let them be too!
Why should we be in a regime of "do's" and "don'ts"? Ultimately it's you as a user the one who makes the choice "I won't pay to see this, I'll just check the free stuff" or "I can afford it, I'll pay to see this".
This is just my humble opinion... _________________ **************
