Here's a mask I made for Huntress. I made it in anim8or. It is currently a prop and will need to be morphed for whatever hair is used. |

I mentioned this in the gallery, would really like to know how you approached this in Anim8or. Want to see if it can be translated over to Cinema 4d.

He didn't approach it in AMAPI... it says he did it in Anim8or.
Looking good so far, Vulcanis. _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS

Here is what I do
1) Make sure you have the most recent version of anim8or. The newest release has a number of new tools that are pivotal for easy subdivision modeling.
2)In Poser
a. Remove IK from the figure of your choice
b. select Body
c. open the Joint Editor and zero figure
d. save figure to library
(These steps will make it easier to position the mask when it is completed)
e. open the cube prop from the Prop Type folder.
f. position and size the cube to fit over the head.
g. export the cube and the head separately
They are saved separately so that when you need to subdivide, only the cube will be affected
3)In UVMapper/UVMapperPro
a.open both .obj files and save them out again. you don't need to do anything else to them. when Poser writes the obj files, it does something to them that anim8or doesn't like. UVMapper fixes this.
4)In anim8or
a. Import the head and then the cube.
b. Push the button that looks like an eye. Push the button at the bottom that looks like it has 4 cubes in it. That will zoom the scene for all viewpoints.
c. Make sure that both arrow buttons on the side toolbar are active and select the cube.
d. In the edit drop down menu, select copy.
e. In the object drop down menu, select the head.
f. Paste the cube into the workarea.
g. Make sure that only the cube is selected and both arrows are still active. Then go to the build dropdown menu and select Convert to Subdivided.
h. At this point there are no set rules. What I do is to go to point mode. It looks like 3 dots. I move points around where I need them. and use the cutting tool (it looks like a knife) to add more points.
I hope this helps a little.

Hey Vulcanis!
Seems like this method WOULD translate over to Cinema 4d in some ways. I'll give it a go and let you know what happens!
Thanks again for taking the time to layout the steps!
