BUT, sometimes when i try to import .obj files from poser into bryce 5 I get an error message that tells me I am out of memory and it can not process the file, meanwhile I have atleast 100mb free at that time....any ideas?
How big is the obj file? And what OS are you using?
That happens on Win98SE and WinME systems a lot with 50mb+ objs.... I run a dual boot win98/win2k system, so I get around it by rebooting into win2k.
Problem doesn't seem to be amount of memory or cpu power... the problem seems to be how effeciently Bryce handles memory and cpu resources under a given OS. Win98 and ME aren't very effecient at handling memory, and Bryce and Poser are attrocious at handling memory and large ffiles, so the two combine to crash.
The "insufficient memory" error is bryce's way of saying it's not sure what's up, but it can't process the obj and it's too dumb to resolve the conflicts. ;] _________________ "I'd add a legitimate comment here, but that would mean reading everything, which I have no patience for." - Slynky

.obj files when exported from another application generally come with a corresponding .mtl file, and (I think), some
softwares don't know how to handle it if this
file is missing, and give that memory error
which is, of course, completely false. I get this error with Poser sometimes. : ) _________________ In pursuit of the Universe.
