I know I haven’t been around a whole heap lately. That’s not just on this site but rather the whole 3d online scene. I just wanted to drop a note to let you all know why and a little about what I’ve been up to.

As some of you may know I got involved in a film project where live actors would be replaced with Poser animations. It was called The Zombie Hunter I started that out with a little help from Les Garner of Sixus1.com. Base on his recommendations I shot the entire movie with people standing in for the zombies and shot the plate footage to Les’s specs. Unfortunately for me, Sixus1’s business picked up considerably forcing Les to abandon my project. To make a long story short, this left me in a lurch. I spent many months trying to animated around the problems but when it was all said and done, my passion to work on new, live action projects kind of pushed ZH on the shelf.

About this time I became enchanted with Brazilian Jiujitsu. I began training 4 nights per week. After my 14 hour days at work with the commute, this pretty much sucked all my time from working on ZH, which by now was almost an after thought.

Myself and two of my close friends from the Zombie Hunter shoot decided to form a serious independent film production group, Mutantville Productions. We jointly conceived and put together this very original script called, C For Chaos. Think elder god raising, vampire, werewolf, slasher meets the Evil Dead and you’re getting in the ball park. Over 3 months we’ve casted and began shooting this film on exclusively on Sundays. Actors are driving from as many as 6 hours away to take part.

Ok, so about 3 months ago I decided it was time to start competing on the National level at Jiujitsu. I went to the world’s Submission championships over 9 hours away in Columbus Ohio. I managed to take 2 bronze medals but in the process completely tore my ACL. 3 weeks ago I had it reconstructed. I’m working through the physical therapy right now and it’s going well.

Over the past year my only tether to the 3d community has been my role as a tester over at Poser Pros. In the coming months as spare time becomes available, I hope to get back to updating PoserCity.com regularly with freebies.

There is only community project that has been underway for some time and is nearly reader. It’s a Shrieker from Tremors, fully bones and texture and soon to be available for free off the site.

Ok, so there’s the mega quick update on Greybro’s whereabouts. In a time when so much is messed up in this world, I’ve been doing fairly well.

Regards,
Brent

Well, glad to see you are still breathing, bro. Its always difficul when starting out with the film industry, trying to get things to mesh. My first few independants were near disasters, until I managed to get to a point that I was finanacially insured on all projects when someone come on board. Events like that can happen, you just need to be prepared.

As for your two bronze medals...congrats. Ive been in competition for kung fu going on 24 years now, since I was 8 years old. Ive suffered my share of injuries and rapairs, so my thoughts are with you during the rehab of your ACL. Been there, done that, got the scars and the T-Shirt. lol.

All the best, and look forward to seeing you around here more, hopefully.
