I've posted the first 10 pages of my comic "The Final Frontier" in my gallery. Please take a look and leave comments please.

Thanks,

Comments would be appreciated folks. All this lurking doesn't help me improve.

I just checked the 10 pages -- they look very interesting.

Even though it screams Star Trek all over.

The lighting is particularly well done. IBL, I guess? What software do you use for rendering?

Next, the characters. As I said before, Star Trek heritage is very strong (I'm not a trekkie, but I always enjoyed Enterprise be it the old one or the new). Most of the characters have great potential and I particualrly enjoyed the Captain (which face morph did you use, btw? It's very nice)

Can't say much about the plot at this point: though it seems to be the typical 'new system-new mission' with a greater quest lurking in the distance type of thing.

Summing up (I apologize for the patronizing tone, maybe I'm not the best person to comment but you wanted a sincere opinion, didn't you): the start is promising, the artwork is better than most Poser comics I have seen online. I'd love to read more of the story -- maybe a whole issue?

I'm a big Star Trek fan so I guess it was inevitable that there be some influence. Hopefully it's not too painful for some. Thanks for the comments. More will be made available as soon as I get a few other projects out of the way.

All of this was rendered in Poser. I used at least 4 lights per scene. I would render a scene in two passes. Once for textures and shadows and then a second time with a Python script for occlusion which came with Poser 6. I then composited it in Photoshop. The captain's morph comes from a package called Jewel which was available at r'osity marketplace by Gwendolyn. I just looked and unless it's over at DAZ now it's no longer available.
