Okay, it's official, SR. You utterly ROCK! Thanks a whole lot!
I'd seen a couple of these places around, but more than a few of them are brand-spankin' new to me, which is a huge help. Maybe sooner or later, people will get to the point of having the wide range of objects and mats Bryce does, and with people like this having a good start, it would be something to look forward to.
And hudas, it ain't no thang. It's something I sort of thought about when I was first getting into Vue and mentally comparing to what I was already used to. (Why doesn't Vue do this feature close to the way Bryce does? Why didn't Bryce incorporate this feature?) Some people are hardcore Bryce-only, some are hardcore Vue-only... I've used both, and find that both have their merits and their problems. I just like to make sure other people are informed before they make a decision and grumble because the package they picked up doesn't do what they need it to. ^_^
Oh, one more thing... Without really trying to plug the 'competition', I'd like to point out to other Vue users here that Renderosity is also hosting some new Vue tutes at the rate of one per week, according to its front page. The first one is a good one on making lush forests without filling up hard drive space. Good screenshots and easy to understand principle, too. Check it... but head back here, natch. -_O

Thanks Argo
You might discover that these sites actually belong to some of the RR Vue forum gang
In all honesty this is the way I build up my linkages...I look at a gallery pic, if they have a home site, I check it out; they got links - sweet! I follow them and if I like them I bookmark them, if the links dry out, I check out the vue rings . Don't limit yourself to Vob (vue natives) you can get some awesome models and other materials that can easily be transported over for use in Vue. So a site that has 3ds stuff can also be a vue link
I try not to compare vue to other apps..gets too confusing. This little old gal's head can only take so much info
If you see something (technique) etc that you think is really cool, why not try it and see what happens...if you can't make it happen yourself, feel free to ask anyone else if they have ever tried it...together it could easily be nutted out.
Have fun!
