I can't really see comparing the two sets of trilogies The first set episodes 4,5,6 are classics and untill i see the episode 3 i am not going to speculate on how bad lucas f****d up.
I do know one thing alot of this comic book movies would have better cgi if lucas arts was involved. i mean dang i thought that was a man in a storm trooper costume that helped padima up in the desert on episode 2 but he was cgi. |

I've just finished writing Episode 1
It's starts, in best Dallas style, with Obi Wan waking up and realising that everything was just a bad dream... |

There is a chance the next installment could turn out more interesting than one might guess at first.
There are still a few mysteries that have never been fleshed out regarding the Sith. We know almost nothing about them or their world. Darth Maul was a cool character, but his origin is still murky.
I'm hoping for a good plot twist in regards to the Emperor's identity. Right now that part of the story looks predictable.
I'm also hoping the next movie will explain what bringing balance to the Force means, and why the Jedi have been waiting for the "One" who will bring balance.

My guess about the "balance" idea... In Episode 1, it was mentioned that the Sith hadn't been seen for centuries. This means that only the "good" Force has been in practice, thus it is unbalanced -- there hasn't been enough Dark Side to balance the Light Side. Qui Gon knew this and was trying to bring around more of the Dark Side. Possible proof: when he died, he had to be burned on a pyre, like Vader in ROTJ, whereas previously all Jedi simply vanished at death (Obi Wan in ANH, Yoda in ROTJ). The reason the Jedi council was so reluctant to bring Anakin into the fold was because they knew what bringing balance meant -- a powerful Sith Lord who would kick the hell out of them. Even in the original series, the Force is in balance, with the Emperor and Vader on one side, and Yoda and Obi Wan (later Luke) on the other. _________________ Jim Harnock - ODS

I never thought about the force being balaced by numbers of good jedi vs. numbers of bad jedi before. You're probably right. I still wonder if the balance is meant to be the balance between
A) Good and Evil
B) Order and Chaos
C) Life and Death
D) Being and Nothingness
The universe can be balanced in many ways. I tend to think it's meant to be the balance is between order and chaos instead of good and evil. Qui-Gon could be classified as a chaotic-good character, while Yoda and Obi-Wan could be classified as order seeking and good. Anakin is in search of order. The struggle between good and evil are secondary to Anakin's struggle for order. Most people fight the hardest for what they lack the most of. I think that is the reason why there's confict between each of the main characters.

| Could be that the whole restoring the balance is when Anakin sacrifices his life at the end of ROTJ, killing Palpatine, to save the life of his son |

The "balance" may also be a task for Luke or Leia's children in Episoodes 7-9. I doubt if we will see the later trilogy, but anything is possible.

| I hated how George threw the entire story of Boba Fett out and replaced it with a far less interesting story. Now Boba Fett is a clone, rather than a rogue lawman. Laaaame. |
