Well, since G4 took over they canceled pretty much every show TechTV had, including staples like Call for Help, Fresh Gear, Unscrewed, Eye Drops, Future Fighting Machines, Invent This!, Nerd Nation, among others...
Screen Savers lost almost everyone I know and other people I like were cut...
Jessica Corbin, Leo Laport, Patrick Norton, Stephanie Siemiller, Chris Leary, Martain Seargent and Laura Swisher, Cat Swartz.
Basically anything having to do with Tech is gone.
What did they leave of Tech TV?
X_play... Games
Robot Wars & Thunderbirds... which I already hated with an #\/<]<!]\[@ passion!!!!
Anime Unleashed.
What did they replace everything they cut with?
Games. Games. Games. Games.
All hosted in a fake ass MTV style with a senseless pounding GAME soudtrack behind the Organic BOT's they now have hosting it.
They simply destroyed everything I cared about on the network, and replaced it with everything I didn't.
I actually cut off my cable after that cause it was pretty much the main channel I watched.
I guess if you LOVE games it's it's great. I only play an occasional FPS shooter and don't own a console. They just killed my favorite channel and left me with nothing.
I want to see stuff like a weekly show on Linux!!! Reviews on Obscure tech devices.

I actually prefer Judgement Day to X-Play simply because of the level of detail in the review. Those times I have seen X-Play it was sort of a little more fleeting on detail but I do know were you are coming from. I just like the detail so I can sort of pull my opinion from theirs. X-Play often says something stinks but they don't say why too often.
I think that I really didn't like tech-tv as much because it was so system specific that it just left me bored. I really don't care about the 400 different kinds of chip for this speciific type of PC that I will never own since I use Mac. I think I really also didn't like the commercial aspect of it. It almost seemed half the shows were "look at this cool new mini-spy camera that only costs $5,000." A lot of it just seemed like it was too much for people tha entirely too much cash floating around.
Since I don't use a PC it just wasn't much of a draw to me but I repect those that could get more out of it.

Sorry to hear Ratteler. I think Martin Sargant is still around since I hear promos for his show but I don't really watch it but the station definately isn't for you if you don't like games.
TechTV was MAC crazy (I know because I hate Macs and would always get frustrated when they brought them up). Leo Laporte was a huge Mac fanatic and they used to constantly have stuff about Macs on the Screensavers. They also used to cover Mac issues on Call for Help and Mac products on Fresh Gear. Considering they're only 5% of the world wide computing market, TechTV certainly gave them that much coverage and more.

I musta missed them when I did see it. I only saw it when I was at my parents home and they were so PC centric that it made it very useless to me. Thanks though for the info.
