This coming from the "great American Hero"? =)
Lol -

And Sharby - I agree with what you said about Jesse's figure. They did do a fair job with both male and female characters - My main gripe is the head shape is so...Star Trekish...They are way too alien without hair. Standard faces cry out for morphs, even Jesse, who is hidioulsly ugly.
But what gets me is the fact that when using even the poses supplied for those characters, the bodies become quite deformed in ways they shouldn't - James' muscular body becomes too jagged, more than even Dork ever did - And check out the knees when they are bent. Knee caps should NOT look like that. At least, not if you are made of flesh and bone.
Maybe rubbermen do though --- Never met a rubber dude in peson.

Hey! If I'm not afraid of flying into a brick wall every week I'm certainly not afraid of a guy wearing mascara.

Here's a new problem that pisses me off.

The Vicky 2 catsuit normally only has 3 materials groupings, Preview, suit, and skin. The suit grouping is the dominant group the program recognizes when rendering.

In Poser 6 an extra fourth materials group named material has magically invented itself. It's the dominant group now. The problem is that the new group isn't mapped the same as the suit group. Your old V2 catsuit textures no longer work.

Here are renderings of the same catsuit texture in P-4 and P-6.

They did a much better job on this version than they did on P-5, but this sort of stuff is just wrong.

Have been working with it for about a day and a half and very impressed with the way it renders and the new lighting system...Haven't had any real problems yet...It does seem to render slowly when you add to many stuff to your scene..In Firefly mode...I jump from PP to P6 so there still a lot I have to learn here....

Not that I post here much, and I have only been playing for a couple of hours ( well 7 ) and haven't had any problems at all, but I am finding it hard to use the eye dropper tool in the material room, other then that the hair, the cloth, the face room ( I like how they used different faces for the different chatracters rather then the same head) new materials, content all of it all is very impressive...and definaly well worth the $75+Shipping.

Has anyone here played with the Toon Render yet? I did one, using all the toon nodes in the materials room (Pain in the ass having to do each one at a time for each material, but still easy to do), and rendered a fairly nice Superman. Then I decided to try it with the thin pen outline, chosen through the Firefly Render window.
What I got was a line around each portion, including portions I had set as completely transparent. Black ink lines ran through the torso, pretty much making a stroke line around each "material" zone, rather than just around the character.

Anyone understand how to avoid this, or just not use that line portion at all (Which then ruins the idea of having a Toon Render at all, I can do it all quicker than the render engine by hand in Illustrator)

Has - I tried it out and was not able to replicate the problem. Am I not mistaken that the material zones come from the character file? Open it up in a word document and take a look at it to see. My V2 Catsuit, both the original, and my ramapped versions remained fine and dandy.

How long do ya suppose it'll be til we see some for Jessi and James? While we're on the subject, Why hasn't anyone ever made any for the Poser kids. Imagine actually using the youngsters for Teen Hero's like the Teen Titans or Legionaires!

I dont think the original Teen kids - If you're refering to the Daz versions - Ever really took off until the latest versions they came out with.
if you mean the Poser kids - They sucked =). But thats just my opinion :)

I don't have the DAZ kids so yeah I was talking bout the Poser Kids from P4 through P6. Heck. You can do so many things with Catsuits, they should come as standard clothing articles for ever figure if you ask me. 8-) And even if the Poser kiddies sucked, they could still use catsuits to be made more useful. :P

Thats true - I had forgotten that they did make them for Dork and Posette - There was one for the girl on Rosity a long time ago - Even one for the baby, which I used a few times for a few fun pictures of super babies, but never saw one for the boy.

I think I know why you can't replicate it.

If you copy and paste the catsuit in .cr2 form from your old library you won't see the problem. (It's messy to handle this way because you will have to tell the program where the object and textures are when you reopen the figure from your library. Poser 6 is an improvement over P-5 because it will remember object locations from outside of the program after resaving to the library.)

If you delete the catsuit figure from the P-6 library and re-install the clothing directly from the DAZ installation disk, then you will probably have the nasty extra materials group.

Of course it could also be that Commodore 64 computer you're on.
