Superbaby? I loved his comics when I was a kid! That would be a fun texture to make! I'll have to check 'Rosity and see if those old catsuits are still around. If not, I'm wondering how hard it would be to spawn catsuits using the grouping tool and the Poser 6 Setup room to bone them.
I’m a user of Cinema 4D so for me, Poser is just a ‘Posing program’ with a large library of objects.
I've been using my P5 to P6 upgrade for a couple of weeks and didn’t notice interesting major modifications.
No new export options (FBX, Cinema 4D)), no plugins like pro pack.
I can’t export parametric hairs, so the “hair room” is not useful for me, I don’t use it.
Compared to C4D rendering, the firefly is very, very slow (10x) and offer less options, I don’t use it either.
As I can’t export procedural material to C4D, I don’t use it.
Considering the new figures? I use the large and better library of DAZ objects, (they always answers to questions, writing you E-mails for update, etc…) so I don’t use it.
The good points:
1) OpenGl interface.
2) Area render.
3) Keep textures loaded option
4) Reuse shadow maps
5) The python language
6) The display Units.
7) Double clicking an object, now add it to the scene.
8) I try to import Poser 6 PZ3 in Vue d'Esprit 5 infinite and it is still working.
Since I use it, Poser 6 didn’t crashes, but I detected some memory leaks after using it.
Poser 5 with the latest service pack didn’t crash either.
(And for the Mac users: in my job, we are 4 network manager for about 2200 computers, most of the running on Windows but also some Mac’s and Linux. We have hackers, Virus on Windows, Mac and Linux. In 99% the problem was not with the machine, but with the user: no password on administrator account, no automatic updates, no antivirus. Think of it ).
[quote="Aremis"]Has anyone here played with the Toon Render yet? ...
What I got was a line around each portion, including portions I had set as completely transparent. Black ink lines ran through the torso, pretty much making a stroke line around each "material" zone, rather than just around the character.
quote]
You can give each material a toon ID in the material room materials with same ID won't have a line between them. The only problem is if a Transparent piece crosses over where you want a line!

smartass!!! =).
Actually, I didnt copy anything or reinstall anything with Poser 6 - I simply added the runtime folder to the library pallete, since there is very little apart from lights and RDNA's stuff in the Poser 6 library that I use - So I simply launch, and switch between runtimes when needed. This also makes the launch super quick for me (Poser 5 use to take forever to open, and my Commodore is running dual 2.8Ghz processors with 2Gigs of RAM, so it was a bitch), but using dual runtimes, P6 loads in less than 1 minute's time. _________________ =============================

Kassad - Not sure I follow what you meant - Are you refering to No Admin password/Auto Updates or Anti-Virus being available on the Mac? Thats how I understood what you wrote - If so - You are solely mistaken. OS8x up to OS X all have Admin Access - Pre- OS X requires the update for administratpors from Apple, if you purchased the Network Version of the OS - OS X (All versions), have it built into the OS (It is Linux afterall, with a GUI interface) - For Auto-Updates, that too is available for OS X (None for Pre-OS X versions though, which are no longer supported anyhow) - And finally, Anti-Virus software is, yes, available for the Macintosh, multiple companies offer this, and has been available since OS 6.2 to be precise.
Now If I misunderstood what what you meant to convey in your message, then disregard

Thanks Nghayward - Thats what I was assuming, and was looking for confirmation.
Thanks again.
I'm very happy with Poser6 things might run slightly slower than P5, but then I've only got a 800MHz Duron and 384MB Ram. With IBL/AO I get faster quality renders than I could with Poser5.
I like many of the new features:
Expanding of library
Double clicking now addid not replacing
OpenGL - seeing transparent items
Retaining previous renders
Area Rendering
IBL / AO
I don't seem to have had problems with crashing that I've heard of else where. Mybe it's because I'm running on Windows ME! Even though it's not supposed to run according to the specs I'm having no problems. It will run just curious labs don't offer support
The one problem I have had is with Koshini 2. in Poser 6 there are problems with posing the chest - I don't know if its a problem with the model or Poser but it didn't happen in Poser5
PS. I don't like the look of Jessis eye's though is it me or does she look angry?

Aremis, if one is using WinXP Home or better yet, Pro edition you will RARELY get a BSOD if at all. I had one about 2 months ago and it was a bad video driver is all. I updated it and all was fine. In the over 3 years I've been running WinXP this is the FIRST BSOD I've gotten. Honest!!
Haven't gotten P6 but I've been traveling around the forums seeing what's up and how everyone likes it. There really seems to be some rendering issues more than any other complaint.
My boxed edition is due to arrive on April 4th, hope I'm home. I'm having it delivered to my new address and while I need to be there in the AM to have my cable turned on I still have to come back to the old place and clean and do a walk through with the manager. So I gotta find someone that will sign for the package in case I'm not there!! Eeek!! I hope I can find someone that will do that for me!!
Wasn't too crazy about Poser5! I use DAZ Studio mostly to pose and render with 3Delight, which works fine for the most part but after all the feedback from some of the top notch users out there in that letter that was sent out to just about everyone I gave in and am looking forward to the experience.
I'll try to post back here when it's arrived and I've had a little time to play!

No signature was neccesary for me. I found my package in between my front door and front screen door. I was home but sound asleep and never heard any doorbells but the package was there when I got up.

No, I was not talking about mac in particular, what I mean is: you can have the better OS that exist, if you don't follow a minimum security rules (passwords, antivirus update, etc...) pirates and virus can crack it. Nothing is 100% safe, but inexperimented users are the best security hole
Excuse me for my bad english but I am French speaking.

AHA!!! Now I understand fully. And also agree with you fully.
But the Mac still beats Windows
---And for anyone else --- These are just ribs, so don't take any offence. Its all about the humour with Animotions....

I've only just started playing with it, so I'm still fumbling around.
I did have some strange problem when reopening figures I had made in P5. When I try to apply new textures in P6 (using MAT poses) the textures add to the texture already on the figure rather than replace the texture that's there.

RAMWolff - Yes, the forums here are very helpful. Many of us started a longggg time ago, with little to no help, and when help was found, it was always appreciated. Manay of the "Old Ones" that I learned from years ago with the old 3D-CC are still here.
As for my avatar - That is the one and only Alice Cooper, The Grandfather of Punk, the innovator of Rock, the Metal Madman and the King of Darkness.
It's a 22" by 34" framed print I sold just over a year ago. Based on the M3 character from DAZ, the morphs and textures were mine, and the rest was done by hand. _________________ =============================

Wow!!! How long did it take to Render at that size? I've never made any large renders with Poser. Nothing larger than a wallpaper screen resolution in anycase!
