Possibly. Must have been before my time.
James Marsters plays the anti-hero 'Spike' in Buffy and Angel.
Sadly, body shaved for the role (not that I notice these things) and a little overly muscled for my personal taste but still... |

| Actually I would like to see a sequel to the Maltese Falcon with a computer generated Humphry Bogart, Peter Lorrie, and Sidney Greenstreet. I've often imagined the theives returning to Istanbul and stealing the real Falcon from General Kemidov, or the Greek antique dealer mentioned in original movie. |

My Kingdom Come isn't handy either, but if he did, Mazzucchelli was first.
Lectatege, did you seriously choose Eartha Kitt for Catwoman without knowing it had already happened?
Hasdrubal, have you seen Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid?

Just in passing, because I'll mention it in Current Reading:
Top 10: The Forty-Niners casts Joely Richardson as the heroine.

If I remember right, didn't a lot of comics fans suggest that Peter O'Toole would have made a great Joker instead of Jack Nicholson when Tim Burton made his Batman film? I must admit- and people usually consider me a heretic when I say this- I'm not much of a Nicholson fan at all and didn't really like his Joker. I think O'Toole had more of the look of the comics Joker in his general face shape and physique, but I don't think he'd otherwise have been much up to the task either.
One fairly good piece of casting I thought was Stallone as Judge Dredd, though the script was defective in many areas and he really should have kept his helmet on, which apparently he wanted to do. |

I don't know whether I've said it before, but although I think Eastwood was Ezquerra's model, I thought Stallone was perfect for Dredd. I liked seeing Hammerstein in there, too.

Would I lie to you Palmers?
What version was she in then? I remember seeing her in Erik the Viking and thinking she would be perfect for the part.
Dead men don't wear plaid - what a great film, especially the tongue shaving sequence and....
Can I adjust that? It seems to have got knocked out of whack.
Electranaut, I'm so glad someone else considers Jack Nicholson grossly overrated, I thought I was the only one on the planet - and how he is supposed to be sexy - Uuuuuurgh!
Stallone was O.K. as Judge Dredd (Eastwood would have been crap - yet another overrated, undersexy actor imho) and yes, he should never have taken his helmet off.
I still think Jo Brand would have been better. |

| Eartha Kitt was in the 1960's TV version of Batman with Adam West and Burt Ward. I might be wrong about who played catwoman first in that series, but I believe Julie Newmar was the First one to play Catwoman opposite Adam West, then came Eartha Kitt followed by Lee Merriweather who donned the roll for the full length feature film with the batboat, batcopter and Batbike! |

| Yeah, but wasn't the '66 Batmobile (as it's officially known) the best of all the screen Batmobiles? |

What about that bloke from American History X to play that bloke who was a bit of a mystic and used to have to go onto the astral plane to fight his opponents.
Sorry to be vague but you know the ones I mean. |

Dr. Strange?
The screen Batmobiles, possibly, although I like the miniature tank from Batman Begins. My favourite Batmobile: the 1940s one, as seen in a current Dinky toys series.

I agree with the choice of the Dinky '40's Batmobile as the best off-screen one I've seen. Although the '50's one is pretty nifty.
Wasn't there actually a rather poor TV movie in the '70's called Dr. Strange? I think it was based on the comic character albeit incredibly loosely. Oh, and Captain America too if I remember and possibly a Spiderman, though the Spidey one may have been a cinema release- I know I certainly saw it at the cinema. |
