Is it possible to enter an off-site address on the form like the ones I posted above?

I ask because "You Tube" is crazy enough to allow 100 mb files, with bottomless bandwith.

Hey together,

nice talk here, but where are the animations??
1MB IS A JOKE!!! QuickTime/Avi is unrealistic.
What do you want -- animated THUMBNAILS??

Serious:
I've just tried to upload a little movie file, duration 11sec.
As .mov it was 24.6 MB
as .gif it was 4.3 MB (320x288) that was still o.K.
as .gif (colors&dimensions reduced)
it was 0.99MB (250x225) looks a little bad
The thumbnail was 16 KB (200x200) -- hey look, it's nearly as big
as the posted movie --> WHAT A MESS!

O.K., I've pushed the upload button and wait ... wait ... wait for
getting the message: FILE IS TO BIG.

I've trashed that whole compressed stuff immediately.

Not at this time. It would require some recoding of the gallery software to allow outside links.

We realize the bandwidth limit is low. We're trying not to get killed here. We may raise it down the road if there is enough demand for it.
