| Of course, the Sherrif of Nottingham doesn't have to have been a Manhunter... |

| Going with digitalmagi's suggestion: What about pulp heroes in general? This is a mighty broad category, but how about focusing on one aspect for September (for instance: Pulp Crime Fighters a la The Shadow and Doc Savage, Pulp Space Adventurers a la Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon, etc.) then coming back to it again sometime later? |

Then I'm for "crimefighters", personally. As long as it's a comicbook-style image, does the guy in the suit have to have been in the comics himself before? (Actually, I'm thinking of Dashiell Hammett's Continental Op.)

I am going to announce the September challenge a day or two early since I am going out of town but here is the list, as it stands. If you want to add somthing or vote up someone to win then you have around 36 hours to do so.
Dr. Doom
Deathstroke
Doomsday
Thanos
Green Lantern Corps 4 votes
Dick Tracy villains
Watchmen
Image teams
Pulp
Crimefighters
Right now the Green Latern Corps is in the lead with 4 votes. This is for non A-List Lanterns (Didn't have their own regular book). |

Me neither, which makes it easier to do, really: If you tried to do an A-List Lantern in your render, you're more likely to get some aspect wrong. On the other hand, many of the GLC only get blip-showings in one comic book, when some other lantern rescues them from the Manhunters or when there's infighting, and there's almost always in those comics a score or more of other
n-list Lanterns of all sorts in the background anyway who never did get mentioned at all. So if you concoct some GL nobody's even heard of and do a pic (of course, the GL regalia needs to be prominently displayed), then when someone calls your bluff, you can just open the comicbook to a crowd scene and point to somebody in the background. "See, he's right there. Don't you recognize the shirt?" |

| Well there is always the fact that i am also totally indifferent to the Green Lantern, as such i am more likely my time doing art for an exchange on LJ rather then attempt to create a decent GL pic. |

| I can honestly say I have never been a huge fan but I have started picking up some stuff recently and it has been pretty good. I definately understand the lack of interest. Unless something changes dreastically between now and when I leave it will be Green Lanterns. |

Hmm. Time to dig up my old "Green Lantern Corps Quarterly" comics for some *really* obscure GLs... |

Sounds right.
If anyone needs a list of the Green Lanterns to choose from, check out:

(Click on the Book of OA to get at the 'complete' list of GLs.) |
