Well, sound effects is something that Argo and I have discussed for our own books, an we are going to make use of them when they are needed, mainly because, well, you expect to see them. Something doesn't feel quite right when they're not there, ya know?
Other than, it looks like a cool effect, but seems like soemthing one would use for a laser... Cane me not master sensei for my impertenance, I beseech thee!

you mean text, or actual sound? If you read Persecution..and heard whip sounds then thunders...you weren't mistaken. _________________ Dana Haywood

Well I'm talking about text sound effects here. I don't think we need to put anymore work on ARgo's shoulders, he already snaps at me when I think of things that'll only give us more to do. |

Proving there are even stranger than us out there:
http://collection.nlc-bnc.ca/100/200/300/ktaylor/kaboom/bzzurkk.htm
Useful for when "Splat" just won't do.
And then there were the noises that became fanzines, from Wally Wood in EC comics, the attack cry of a multi tenticled B.E.M. "Spa-fon!" and/or "Sqa-tront!"
As for a technical forum, I dunno. Doesn't that go against site philosophy? On the other hand "page" construction is a wide open field. I'd like to hear from TPTB on this. I have it on good authority they lurk this forum regularly.
'Sides I co-run the Amapi and Tech Support fori over at Commune plus write reviews and beta test. This place is like The Algonquin Round Table for me. |

The Algonquin Hotel is in NewYawk.
Benchley, Parker, Sherwood, Kaufman, et al. (1920 - 1930) would sit at their table and "cut heads", dis everyone and everything, write unvelievable prose and non-fiction and generally have a hell of a good time while waiting for the Depression to show up.
Gee kind of like us here. (The Chimp in Chief guarantees we have our Depression by the end of the year. [but I digress])
Algonguin might have been a phone pre-fix long long ago too in Arlington MA. Vague recolection of that.
And of course the Algonquin indians who first said "well, there goes the neighborhood" |

| Okay, this is kinda a plug, that leads to a pic but one that has nothing to do with Darker Age Press. I threw together a pic in Poser only, and tossed it up on the Marvel Gallery, feel free to take a look. |

A depression is a state of mind rather then economy, at least that what they taught me in school.. but then again, I didn't have the schooling as the chimp in chief, so who knows.. _________________ Dana Haywood

Depression - n. The state one finds themselves in when they realize that they are four months from their presupposed website opening and are still lacking in sets and characters.
Bugger me senseless. I'd better get off my arse pretty soon. On the good side, I did do a buttload of great scriptwork last night!
And as far as Algonquin goes, I've heard of the Native American tribe (New York/Canada area?), but the hotel was a new one to me. The only historical ones I know right off, however, were Willard's in DC and the Waldorf-Astoria. Two mutually exclusive terms methinks.
ugh I really didn't need that image
The Round Table was _the_ place to be in NYC on any afternoon. Worth researching. Sorta like the internet with drinks.
George S. Kaufman: Once when asked by a press agent, "How do I get my leading lady’s name into your newspaper?" Kaufman replied, "Shoot her."

Now that just wouldn't fit well with my lead lady.. she just wouldn't have it. She would flip the gun on me, and go ballistic.. _________________ Dana Haywood

| Oh, come on Dana, like she'd need to flip the gun. She'd give you a pouty lip, you'd give in, and then she'd kick your butt... 8) |

And...wait. You'd refuse a choice redhead with a penchant for wearing hot-bodied clothes if she told you she wanted to see you in bed?
Sorry. Couldn't let it pass by. _________________ "It is perfectly easy to be original by violating the laws of decency and the canons of good taste."
